I didn't realize how cheap Blackberry plans are, most of you said that you pay $40-$60/month, I pay about $30/month for the phone I have right now. I'm trying to convince my parents that I should buy a Blackberry before I go off to uni (August). Is it really worth it? I don't text a lot and I don't really like the phone I have very much. Maybe in uni the amount I text would change though since I'd be meeting new people?

I have to say the best place to go is Bell. I have service all over york with my blackberry and York University is so hard to find service. I pay 50 dollars a month and I have unlimited text message, data plan, calling after 6 email etc. If you go into the star they will offer you great deals. I got a blackberry torch for 25 dollars!!
I would suggest bell.

I used Telus before and I kept getting ripped off, I used the new company Wind never got much service (although I am in Vaughan) but their is no contract and its unlimited everything in your home zone and I payed 50 dollars a month.

Does anyone here have an iPhone 4 with Bell?
How much do you pay a month and what does your plan include?
I have unlimited texting and calling in Canada and to the US and 250 MB. All for $50/month, no caller ID.

I also went 8.0 MB over my data plan and I have to pay $400!!!! :'( SOOO upset... I don't know how my dad will react when I tell him :(

Did any of you negotiate a better deal? If so how much cheaper did they go?

I currently have Rogers Pay As You Go. I don't pay by the month, I top up once a year ($100) and have an unlimited texting plan ($15/month). I've dealt with Rogers for 3 years now.

I currently have an iPhone. I'm with Fido, unlimited text, 200 minutes, unlimited calls for evenings and weekends, voice mail, 500mb data, and I pay about $47 I think. I got stuck with my sister's contract when she gave me her old phone. Prior to this, I had a blackberry, and paid $25 to Fido for 100 minutes, unlimited text, no data/voicemail.

Plan: Wind Mobile $29 Super Smart Plan-

unlimited extended local calling,
unlimited texting, (US/CAN)
unlimited data
voicemall

For everyone who has complained about Wind Mobile and their service...they are still expanding. The reception you get really comes down to your phone. I got a Blackberry 9300 two months ago (switch from Alcatel Tribe) and I have absolutely no complaints!

What I usually do is switch plans when different promotions come out. I paid a one time fee of $20 for doing so and that's all.

I top up monthly, any left over credit I have rolls over to the next month.

I'm on Koodo and have been for about a year, I recently switched my plan though. I have an android that connects to wifi, so I've never had a data plan. My first plan was $25 a month, unlimited texting, 100 minutes a month, and unlimited evenings and weekends after 7 pm. The only thing that I hated about it was that it didn't have voicemail or caller id. Then Koodo came out with it's new "Canada wide calling" and I switched. I now pay $30/month, and I get the same as before, plus caller id and voicemail, and my calling is now Canada wide. This is great because I plan to move to Ottawa in September for school, but all of my family lives in BC/Alberta. It's a pretty good deal, because I get all of the perks of a smartphone with wifi, without the expensive dataplan.
