For all those who have applied from Vancouver or in BC, I personally have not heard back from Queens about the entrance scholarship.

I'am hoping that we will be the last batch to get notified ! Fingers crossed.
Just wanted to share the update !

How is everyone feeling about accepting their offers? I know I'm for sure going to be going to Queen's now. I was really debating between Queen's and Western but it's nice now... sort of like the decision has already been made for me compress

This definitely sways me towards Queen's! I'm like 95% sure I'll be going to Queen's now haha.

Yeah I'm about 95% sure on Queen's too. Western is still in the back of my mind, but unless something major changes then I'll almost for sure be accepting Queen's.

Also, in case anyone was unaware, MES winners are guaranteed single rooms :)

Has anyone gotten the acceptance package from Queen's yet?

Exactly the same situation for me! Western is the only other school that I've been considering. But 95% is pretty one sided haha.

I actually got my acceptance package in the mail from Queen's sometime last week (before February). However, I am in Alberta and was notified of my acceptance electronically mid January.

^ single room on campus guaranteed is a nice bonus if you ask me (no chance of being stuck in jean royce!) other than that not totally sure, but honestly between the money and the prestige don't think you can ask for much more haha
& looked for you on fb but there are more hannah ramsays than you'd think!

Yeah, the prestige is a huge deal. My sister is in commerce and she got one of the most prestigious positions for 1st years in one of their commerce societies. I'm sure being a chancellor's winner only helped with that. It not only looks fantastic on a resume, but it allows you to build your resume.

Didn't get selected. Sincere congratulations to the many SAers who won. I'll still most likely still choose Queen's, but I'll see :))) Hope to meet you all in Kingston.

Heyy
So I heard about the guaranteed single room offer too? Do any of you know people at Queens in a single room? Some people that I talked to were saying that it gets pretty lonely in a single room and there's no one to talk to.

I think your experience in a single room depends completely on the type of person you are. if you're shy and have a tendency to like a lot of alone time, then you may not be as social if you have a single--but then again, that may be exactly what you need. I think if you leave your door open when you're in a social mood, whether or not you have a roommate, you'll be able to meet people. I know people at Queen's in singles, doubles with friends, and doubles with strangers: all have their pros and cons but in the end everyone was happy with their decision because it suited their personality type. you just have to figure out what you really want, and I'm sure if you contacted Queen's saying you'd prefer a double they'd be happy to place you in one!
