I need some clarification on something...a classmate of mine was accepted to York Seneca (at which I also applied in as well) and Humber for nursing. Her marks range from around 65%-75% in grade 11 and 1st semester of grade 12 in the required courses. Not to sound conceited, but I have higher marks. Like much higher. What factors could affect why I haven't gotten any accpetances yet? It's just something I don't understand. I think I also applied earlier than her, as if that affects anything. I'm not sure if I make any sense, but yeah..

That's really weird :| But this has happened before >< For example, my friend who has a higher average than me didn't get accepted to York/Seneca, even though I did :| My average wasn't low, but my friend's average was definitely higher.

Although it's unlikely, but it could have something to do with extracurriculars?

One thing that did happen to my friend was she applied to many places but she forgot to pay the fees, so she couldn't get any acceptances despite her high marks.

But I don't think you should worry, I'm sure your acceptance will come sooner or later :)

Hey guys! Last year I applied to Mac, Western, OttawaU, Trent & Queen's all for nursing.
My final average was about a 92% and I got accepted to all of these school's before midterms second semester.
If I have ANY advice for you it's to take data management & exercise science in high school, you will never thank yourself more in a statistics class and anatomy class.
I currently go to queen's and if anyone has any questions feel free to ask.
Nursing's a LOT of work, but so worthwhile and rewarding.
Good luck everyone :)

Hi. I was wondering if someone could help me out here.
I got offers from Ryerson Centennial and GB. I just read the letter attached and it says I need a 65% or higher in chemistry. Problem is that I got a 64% (chemistry isn't my strong point). I can't do night school because it's full for chemistry. Will Ryerson revoke my offer, even if I meet all the other requirements?

Call ryerson admissions and ask them! I'm sure they'll help you out! If you can't get through, email the student affairs assistant for the nursing program there!

I emailed ryerson for a similar situation! They told me that they will look at your final grades to determine if you've met the condition or not. So, if your chemistry mark is only temporarily at that mark at the moment, as long as you can bring it up by June, you're good to go! Also for things like if you took two maths, but they only require one over 70%, as long as you have at least one math that is equal or above 70%, your offer won't get revoked. ;) hope this helped.

I had chemistry in first semester so I can't bring the mark up. :(
Thanks for replying, though.

For one of the persons on the last page (sorry, I don't know how to post a reply to that post), so whoever it was, I'm sorry, but I hope this helps. This person had mentioned that math was not their strongest point, well you and the others struggling with math this year, the requirements state that you need a 4U English (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred), SBI4U, SCH4U, and one of MCF3M, MCR3U, MHF4U, MCV4U or MDM4U. In other words, if you have ONE of the maths from the above list (grade 11 or grade 12) you are fine. However, if you did not do great in grade 11 math, I would suggest that you take grade 12 math because the highest of the two will be taken for your top 6.Just to clarify, this applies to those wanting to go to RYERSON. I hope I helped and If I am wrong please let me know.

just got my semester 1 marks. My average was a 78%, could I still get accepted into Ryerson if I work hard in second semester?

Anybody else here a transfer student i.e currently studying post-secondary institution, and switching to another for nursing?

I contacted the admissions officer for nursing at Humber and they said that they have to wait until they receive my final Winter semester marks before they could make a decision on my application :( I don't get my marks until May, and I'm worried that there will be no spaces left for me.

I'm assuming that this is the same for any other transfer student, at any other college/university?
Anybody else in the same boat?

A lot of my friends didn't this year, and they're totally fine :) it's not detrimental, I promise you! Just a bonus if you have them because you get a break sometimes because you've already learned it, but if you can get into Western you're obviously smart, so you won't have a problem :)

I was accepted to Ryerson University's RN program a few days ago. Looking forward to getting started in September!

Grade 12 average: 87.

I also applied to York but I don't think I'm going to go there... I heard that Ryerson's nursing program is much better.

Congrats, we'll see you there! And yup, Ryerson nursing has really good reputation. It's also located downtown toronto so that's always a plus ;)
