Hello all,

This is my first post, but I have lurked around the forum for quite some time. I am a grade 12 student in Ontario.

A little about myself -

My U Grade 11 classes I ended up with an 84% average.

Grade 12 first sem. -

ENG4U - 81
EWC4U - 88
BBB4M - 81
IDC4U - 84

So a 83.5% average with those marks.

Applications in order:

1) Western - Political Science
2) Guelph - International Development
3) Laurier - Political Science
4) Carleton - Business Law (BA Honours with CO-OP)

I got an offer of admission from Carleton yesterday with a renewable scholarship at $2k a year. I'm wondering what to do now.. It's my last choice, and I am really unsure on what the benefits are to me receiving this offer. Are there any benefits other than the low scholarship?

Also, does anyone know if early acceptance send dates are specific to each faculty/major? If so, it would be awesome to find out when they are sent for the programs I listed above.

Kind of a long intro, but maybe it will be helpful to someone.

Thanks,

TGG

The only benefit is you know you have been accepted somewhere ;puts your mind to ease.
and you have room to slack bit as long as you maintain the average in the offer letter.

It mostly just settles your nerves. Also, you don't have to try as hard in your second semester courses because your average can drop a little.
Well every program/faculty has different admission standards so I'd assume they have different acceptance dates and stuff.

Is Brock actually your first choice?

I'm kind of surprised since you applied to those other schools, I'm not trying to imply that Brock is bad or something. My math tutor went there for Computer Science and landed a job with one of the big 5 banks and really liked his undergrad. You just don't see people with Brock as their first choice and a school like McGill as a second choice.
