What musical instrument(s) do you play?
How long have you been playing for?
What style of music do you cover or compose?

I myself play the electric guitar, I've been playing since the 10th grade, well more like since last year because prior to that I mainly screwed around instead of learning actual music :P

I wouldn't consider myself any good, more like average but I'm solid at alternate picking, tremolo picking, galloping, etc (technical terms for some of you :P)

I play Metal and Instrumental Ballad type stuffcheers

I played clarinet in elementary school for band, and then started acoustic guitar in grade 8 and have been playing since :) I have never taken lessons, and don't have much time to practice these days. I usually do school performances with a friend, but am not that good yet haha

I play acoustic, electric and bass guitar, mandolin, ukulele, trumpet, french horn, percussion, and some others on the side.
I've been playing for... eight or so years.
I play jazz, rock, blues, folk, bluegrass, dubstep (when I'm in the right mood), etc. Mostly everything.

Me! Me! Me!

I've been playing piano since I was 8 or 9... and I love it! It's funny, when I was little, I hated practising, and my parents had to force me. "If you don't practise, we're going to sell the piano."
Now, my parents have to drag me away from the piano... and tell me to do my homework... or eat... or sleep. LOL. I don't get to practise as much as I would like, but I make up for it in the summer where I can play for like 6 hours a day (if I'm not doing something else).

I mostly play classical, but I'm open to other genres too. I kind of had a little obsession over avant- garde music last year... drove my parents insane a little. ;) I've been trying to write my own arrangements of pieces, and I do improv, but I haven't really been able to compose anything I really liked.

I would love to learn to play the guitar. And the flute. And the harpsichord... and the harp... and the list will go on and on because I'm a dreamer...

@ sdowdell, I have a youtube channel too!

Me too. I was close to applying for U of T and York jazz, but then pulled out.

I play piano since I was 4, guitars since 12, drums since 13, a bit of violin and sax since last year. I now am a principle percussionist in my school band. I play jazzy blues and bluesy jazz extensively, but also composed the score for a school play this year.

Excuse the bragging, it's almost 3 am and I had a little bit too much coffee.

But yeah, I am a jazzy guy!

I've played the piano for about eleven years or so, the trombone for about six years and I tried to self-teach myself the accordian but failed. I generally play hymns because that's the only music scores I have access to, or I play something random by ear.

I've been playing piano for 9 years, guitar for about 2 and a half years, tenor saxophone for 1 year then switched to alto saxophone and its my 3rd year playing it. Clarinet for like 6 months (I didn't like it very much). Been singing for 15 years and DJing for 2 years.

I like playing classical and pop music on both guitar and piano. I like playing jazz music on the saxophone, I enjoy house music, dance and techno when I DJ, and I love singing R&B, pop, ballad, jazz, and soul.

I started with violin when I was 3, picked up piano at 6, and then switched from violin to cello at 10 for various reasons. So now I play cello primarily, although I had to complete grade 8 RCM piano as a technical requirement so I have a bit of knowledge there as well.

Trumpet. I started when I was 6 and stopped taking lessons when I was like 13, but I still play in band at school just for fun.

I'm impressed with everyone's posts about the instruments they play, and here I am playing "loud" modern music on my electric guitar which my dad doesn't approve of Haha :P

YESH! I've been playing the Irish flute as a hobby since I was 12. Awesome instrument, and really the only thing that has kept me interested in music.

I also used to play the Baritone Horn in grade 7 and 8, but I've forgotten how to play it by now unfortunately :( .

i'm another pianist here too LOL .. started from scratch when i was 12 , but it's been 6 years and now i'm in grade 8 according to RCM standards~ :D , i plan on quitting after taking the exam though ... there's too much to practice and no time to practice it all , plus i never get to play any of the songs I want to , >.<; i cover anything that sounds nice but only if there's existing sheet music for it .. and i haven't really tried composing any of my own stuff seriously before , ^^; oh, i also learned a bit of guitar in school but with my small hands , that didn't get far bahaha , :(

I play the piano since I was 8 years old. Wish I got the time to learn the guitar but for time being I guess it will remain a wish
