WOW, i've been looking at the comments, does no-one in the new generation listen to hard rock or soft metal, pussies. (bet someone's going to quote me and tell me how im judgmental and wrong)

you bet your bottom dollar that i'm gonna quote you. the people in this generation listen to whatever they want and not care what other people think.

heck, i'm just fascinated about how music has the ability to influence one's mood. uplifting music can both divert, entertain and revive. sad, soulful music can provide solace, encourage mental work and discharge emotions. overall, i'm just pointing out that everyone has different musical tastes and putting certain genres of music on a pedestal doesn't make someone inferior for not listening to it. you get my drift? so don't discriminate. show love and appreciate (for music and people alike)

never mind my first post which is just an attempt to see what someone would say^ (or you can call it experimental trolling).
you can't say to shows love and appreciation to something like rap which only gives a bad influence. their is no joy or love in most of those songs, just racist, sexist comments and the usual go rob a bank and smoke some weed story. you are right that it has an ability to change someones mood, but mostly in a violent way, listen to some of these songs, their so famous just because the new generation likes how much they swear in them. point is you can't say everyone has a right to listen to whatever they want and not care what others think. people from the new generation are mostly lost idiots who think their normal. (last sentence just my opinion)

Well NeptuniumTrioxide, first off you need to learn the proper uses of there, their, and they're. Second off rap isn't just bad influences; apperently you've never listened to it. I for one consider myself to have a fairly broad range of music and know and equal amount of metal songs that are just as bad as rap songs. brilsmurf

first off, this is a forum. it isn't an English assignment where i actually care. i don't care if you hate when people don't spell properly, at least i don't right lol, lmao, ty ext.
second of all, i used to LOVE RAP music, i used to listen to Eminem and many other artists. i personally remember the swear words in the songs, i remember the violent beet that came with it and the advertisement of products that can be heard in the lyrics. i know how it changed me and the first thing i did when i realized my life was being wasted and i was doing bad in school was, drop those songs. find something else i like.
i see the way rap effects people in my high school, the people who do listen to it have a much higher chance of doing poorly in my school. (yes i actually went around and asked who listened and then compared their grade performance)

"House of the Rising Sun" by the Animals

"Love, Reign o'er Me" by the Who

"Last Dance with Mary Jane" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

"In the Evening" by Led Zeppelin

LOLOLOL @ Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush xD We don't see many artists like her anymore. Kinda reminds me of Lady Gaga with her funky movements.

Bands like Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, The Who, The Doors or Dire Straits?

Throughout my seventeen years of being alive I didn't learn to appreciate the art of music until I was around the age of 14. I started to live a life revolving around music and this one particular song called " When you believe by Whitney Houston." This song to me is an significant part of my life, because the lyrics of this song has so much symbolism and meaning that relates to my life. This song to me is "don't stop believing" and "fighting" for your dreams. There were times that I was being bullied, struggling financially, and family problems that I could not stand to live a single day, but the lyrics to this song has helped me push threw those hard times and made me the better person I am today. Therefore "When you believe by Whitney Houston" is my favorite song.
