MOst people who take functions say its pretty easy. Pesonally for me i feel its the same as grade 11 academic math, but just a pinch easier. If you do the homework and if you managed a 77 without doing homework, then i think a 92 is duable. Its pretty straight forward stuff. Its just understanding and reading graph models and their equations and state the end points and whether its a horizantal compression or expansion. You'll learn all that when you take it, but honestly the work is simple and very straight forward, its just you doing you're homework and understanding everything. :)

I got 83 in functions without doing my homework, and got 92 in advanced functions without doing it either. I definitely paid more attention in class and studied more before tests though. Easily doable, imo.

90s in my high school is definitely do-able at my school, but the majority of the students at my school found AF difficult...but apparently universities recognize that our math curriculum is harder...so yeah, it depends. Definitely not a breeze at my school.

If you spend time learning how to spit out answers like a robot (or a function defined as f(x).... eh? eh?) then you will have a high average. If you don't then you will be in the buffer zone of 85 - 95.

LOL high school math are a joke. Wait till you guys hit university and learn linear algebra. wooo fun no calculators allowed in math mid terms too :). Then again they won't help anyways LOL

I found linear algebra to be pretty easy. It's straightforward, and it takes a lot less practice to learn than Advanced Functions and Calculus.

Advanced functions isn't really that hard, but I'd recommend working harder in it since it's one of the required courses for a lot of programs. You can get a 92 if you try. I don't think the marks are as high as Calculus marks, but that might just be at my school.

As long as you don't miss too much class and do all of your homework you should be okay. It's really important to learn and understand the concepts, as you can't get by entirely on memorization. When you get your tests back, go over all the questions you did incorrectly and work on them until you understand. If you need help, ask your teacher.

For the most part I didn't have trouble with the course, but I fell behind about halfway through the semester and found it hard to keep up. As long as you don't let yourself get overwhelmed you shouldn't have any problems.

Dropped it after midterms at 78% (was very involved in EC's) and ended up with 97% in Summer School. Absolutely doable with no distractions.

To be honest, it ultimately depends on how comfortable you feel with math. Obviously, it's at a standardized level given that it's a high school course, so a basic understanding and some memorization should get the job done. Also, an easy school/teacher helps.

advanced functions was a joke. calculus on the other hand is harder as it requires understanding theory and etc.
