Hey, I'm planning on attending Waterloo, Environment and Business, in the fall. I was curious if anyone else was going into the Faculty of Environment at Waterloo and what their thoughts were on it and stuff. University being a new experience and all I'm sure there's lots to talk about. :) So, any other tree-lovers out there? :P

Hey there! I'm applying for Environment and Business in waterloo also. But I haven't heard back from the university.
I probably won't take it if i get accepted anyway. Waterloo is super expensive, esp. since i'm an international student. It gets 3 times more expensive! D:

I know what you mean! When I originally applied Environment and Business was my last choice....but then I just completely changed my mind. But I'm really happy I did :D

Yeah I agree that it is expensive, and I'm not even an international student so that's saying something. I don't have a lot of money to my name so I'll be working all summer to come up with some funds, and I'm applying to a lot of scholarships! :)

Just got accepted to Waterloo's Environment & Business yesterday. Excited (:

Sooooo guys, do you think career in environmental studies will be good for the future? It's just that I've noticed it's not that popular and all, and sometimes i get worried that I won't have a bright career ahead.

Congratulations on getting accepted! I definitely think environment and business is a good way to go, since many companies are hiring and expanding in the areas of sustainability and environmental compliance :) I have no doubt I'll be able to find something to do when I graduate that helps both me and the environment :D

Whinnie, I don't exactly know what made me change my mind. My father didn't really want me to just go for an arts degree (what I originally wanted) and I realized neither did I, so I went with the environment option. It makes me happy because I get to live out my passion for the environment and get into a really interesting job market :)

I think it should be...I believe the admissions requirements say low 80s, at the most mid-80s.

I had a pretty high average when I applied (92.5%) but the admissions requirements are in the 80s, so just work hard this semester and get awesome midterm marks I guess? :):):) Good Luck :D

I just got accepted for environment and business about two weeks ago with an 83 average so I think your chances are pretty high:) I've heard its a really good program and this sector is becoming increasingly popular! Anybody thinking of doing the living learning community at St. Pauls?

I am absolutely set on the Living Learning Community at St.Pauls! It's my first choice and I really hope I get in, I went for a tour and love everything about it :D

From my friend that did/is doing Environment & Business, apparently St. Paul's is the place to be for first years in the Faculty of Environment.

ALSO I went on a tour at the March Break Open House and there is a lecture hall IN the residence! Apparently there are a lot of first year environment classes held in that lecture hall. So we pretty much don't have to go out into the cold to go to class! Yay! :D And the environment buildings are really really close to St. Pauls! :D I'm definitely super excited to see if I get into St. Pauls, I put in my deposit in WEEKS ago so maybe that will help me some? :P :D

Living-Learning Community just means that in addition to the typical residence activities, there are also a bunch of study/academic activities organized. Pretty sure there isn't any less partying there than in a non-LLC residence.

Does anyone know when the residence PREFERENCE forms come out? I already did the residence RANKING form, and did St. Pauls as first, and checked off living learning community and everything. But I'd like to know when we get the opportunity to tell about our selves so we don't get a roomate we don't mesh with at all.

Someone from Waterloo called to see if I had questions and thats what I asked them, and they said they had no idea.....not reassuring at all. :P

I'm kinda confused on which residence I should put first in my preference. What's actually the difference between University College Residences and Waterloo Residences?
I know that St. Paul has a living learning community, but I'd also like to have an all girls floor, and I don't know if St. Paul has that. Do they? How is it compared to REV and V1?
