You shouldn't have a problem. Just wait for March 12th (which is tomorrow I guess) and if you don't get an email then I would suggest calling them and ask politely if they could review your application and see what the issue is. Good luck!

Edit: do you have a low functions marks?

my average is 86 but my calculus is only 77. Since the invitations will only be sent until March 12th, I think they will reject me very soon?:S

unless their minimum calc mark is 80, that 77 shouldn't stop them from inviting you to afmaa - again you are above the low 80s cutoff. so don't despair just yet!

For those who are in the CA (previously PA) co op stream: what was your Grade 12 English mark?

I've heard that the entrance average for the CA co op sat around a 92% in previous years.
I think I'd be pretty okay with EC's and grades. However, didn't do so hot with English last year with an 87%, and therefore am anxious about my AFMAA performance.

Thanks in advance.

First Semester Final Avg: %87.25

All completed grade 12 courses avg: %86.8

Grade 11 English: %76 (you need at least %75 to be eligible to write afmaa)
Grade 11 Functions: %78 (a friend who called about his rejection email was told they expected at least a %70 in gr 11 functions)

Grade 11 cumulative avg (both semesters) : %80.5

6 Grade 11 courses + 7 Grade 12 courses (all marks entered into OUAC) avg: %82.6

Current potential top 6 avg: %88.5

English (ENG4U) - %95
Advanced Functions (MHF4U)- %94
Business Leadership (BOH4M: taken in grade 11) - %92
International Business (BBB4M: taken in grade 11) - %90
Data Management(MDM4U) - %82

I think you should call them up and ask for the reason you did not get invited to the AFMAA.

I agree- it's stupid that you didn't get in ??:S:S:S

There's quite a range. I'm not sure about PA specifically, but there's people in AFM who had high-90s in English, and there's some who were sub-80.

Thanks for your input, guys! I'm just worried because there are many with 95%+ averages, and I would have to write a pretty exceptional AFMAA to compete. I guess all this fretting is getting me no where; I'll just simply try my best. :P

Does anyone know the % of students writing the AFMAA who are applying to PA versus FM?
If not, which are you applying to! :) I'm going for PA.

haha it seems like you're using the studentawards population to represent the entire population of applicants. You gotta realize that studentawards is full of massive keeners and overachievers so by no means does it reflect all the applicants well. Don't worry about it too much ;D
