Thank you for your replies. I do understand that the funding will decrease significantly, however I was wondering if there are any other repercussions for switching transferring to part-time? Will I be required to pay back my loan earlier, be put on probation etc.? What can I do to inform them of this change properly? In other words if I really need to drop this course, what is the best thing I can do to ensure that this does not become a much of an hindrance when I continue OSAP?

I don't know enough about your situation, you should read the OSAP website and then contact them with any questions you have.
Being a part-time student shouldn't mean anything but getting less funding.

If you need to take a semester off in the middle of the year (eg. Between 1st and 2nd semester), would you have to cancel and reapply for OSAP when you return? Or would you just defer/postpone the second cheque somehow? It turns out the only way I will be able to afford to go in January is if I take two semesters off to go back home and work full time, since I've just discovered the Jan. start date for this program runs for four semesters straight, which I can't afford.
Basically I'd start in January, take May-Dec off to work, then continue with the 2nd semester in Jan '14 with the students that started in September '13. I just don't know how that would work with OSAP.

Typically students don't even attend from May-Aug, so I would guess you would just apply for one semester of OSAP for January and then take time off to work and repeat the process for the next January

I just don't know how that would work with OSAP. You apply for all funding that will be needed from 2012-2013 in one application, then in your next application you'd apply for the 2013-2014 year. They'll do the calculations of how many months you're actually attending class and go from there.

If im from BC relocating to ontario in the summer and going to school in ontario, do i do OSAP or government loan from my province right now Queen's University '16

Loans are given based on the province you are a resident of. Since you are a resident of BC, you would need a BC student loan

I have a question about earning money while receiving osap. Specifically, the first week or so. I am attending Athabasca (Alberta), enrolled in a full course load beginning May 1st and receiving OSAP. I stated on my application that I will NOT be working during this time (and I won't be) so am bascially not able to earn anything much. I am currently working full time, and planned to leave my job when I begin studies. What I want to know is, as my study period begins May 1st, my loan is also dated for May 1st of course. However, I will not actually receive the money until a week or so later of course. I am a single parent and am a little worried about the time in between the 1st and the date the money is actually in my account. I was planning to give my notice now, to leave my position as of May 4th. Does anyone know how strict OSAP is about money earned in the first few days? It's only 4 days, and am not positive how much I would earn in that time (I believe a person is allowed to earn approx 103$ a week while receiving OSAP?) If my last pay date is say May 11th, for the previous 2 weeks, do i only need to report the money earned from May 1-4th? Does all this make sense? lol. I apologize if this question has been asked and answered before, I searched and couldn't find anything specific.

You probably wouldn't find anything because your situation is so specific. I would suggest you call OSAP and ask. And also try to save as much money as you can right now.

I was born in Ontario, am a Canadian, but have never lived anywhere in Canada. My parent's aren't Canadian citizens and do not live in Canada either, so they've never paid tax in Canada. Am I even eligible for OSAP? My SIN card was registered in Ontario.
Also, I have looked around, but I'm still not clear about when to apply to OSAP. I'm planning to start uni in Fall 2012, so do I apply now, once I'm accepted, once I'm at uni, etc.?

LOLOLOL I think they have buddy, I was born 18 years ago ;) Either way I agree with you, but no worries, I'm not leeching off your taxes or anything like that and I fully intend to contribute to Canada once I move there for uni and beyond.

When do the applications for OSAP start, for fall 2012-2013?? Also, i am an only child of south asian descent, both my parents and i are canadian citizens. Together gross income is appx. $65,000. We do have an RESP & they have savings for me (not TOO much though). So, am i still eligible for OSAP? I'll be going to UofT, st. george for humanities in the fall! thanks!
