Both our averages are pretty high and our EC's have gotten us into competitive schools (Schulich), it's really just a waiting game from this point. *really hope I don't jinx us for being cocky* University of Western Ontario | Class of 2016

I think non-chancellor nominee's have some waiting to do. They do say it's on a rolling basis but the best way to predict an acceptance is through the universities past acceptances. Most of the offers rolled around the April 20th - May 10th mark in past years. Check the forums for past threads of Queen's acceptances. Hopefully I'm wrong and they decide to give out acceptances earlier this year! Accepted: York University - Schulich BBA U of T Mississauga - Commerce (Finance Specialization) University of Ottawa - Finance Co-op Western University - BMOS Wilfrid Laurier University - BBA U of T Scarborough - International Business Waiting: Queen's Commerce U of T St. George - Rotman Commerce

I'm sure you are all anxious to hear if you got in but for now just sit tight. Patience is what you need at this moment, I know it's a pain but trust me once you get accepted it is worth the wait.
Keep in mind for those who haven't heard from Queen's yet: majority of the acceptances will happen around late May!
Enjoy your last year of high school because you're going to miss certain aspects of it once you're in university!

Yeah. I agree. But there's just something about Ivey that makes me wna go there too. Maybe it's just all the marketing Ivey does. I just dislike the 2+2. but i like Ivey itself. that's what's holding me back from accepting Ivey How about you? Have you decided where you wna go yet? Have you decided where you wna go yet? well if you dont like the 2+2 but want ivey, you could do queens and then transfer to ivey. You may love queens and then never want to leave, or uou may still want to go to ivey, in which case you have the choice/opportunity. but if you go to western and dont like your first two years, you cant go and switch into queens, and you may regret your decision of western. Also -ya ivey ahs very good marketing :P have you been to their open house/ presentations? that's what turned me off of them. for myself I'm still not decided (and i have to get aeo and queens still), however its between laurier and waterloo afm right now. I dont know why everyone one is hating on the 2+2 program, to me it makes a lot more sense and seems more enjoyable. I think its better to study what actually interests you for the first to years to you get the education that university was supposed to do originally, not super prepare you for a job but broaden the students horizons. Plus it means that you dont have to kill your self working because you can take potentially easier courses and enjoy your first 2 years doing more outside of the class room. Also i just personally think 4 years of business is over kill cause realistically you dont need 4 years of business knowledge to work in business you wont end up using half the theoretical bs.

I think the benefits of the 4-year model are less tangible than just the amount of time in class. This isn't something I realized when making my university decision, but after spending almost two years at QC, I have started to see why its so great. I would say the number one reason is that you spend four years with your graduating class. At QC, you really get to know a lot of people in your year and spending four years together allows you to really grow these relationships. As well, a four-year format allows for greater immersion in the extra-curricular activities. If you miss an event one year or don't get a position you wanted, you still have a lot of other opportunities to do so. I admittedly didn't get very involved in my first year, but have since done a lot and still have two years to do more. For a more academic standpoint, four years allows you to spend two years deciding what aspects of business interest you then two years exploring that area (although you don't have to specialize at QC). As well, you can go on exchange without losing 25% of your time in your desired program. These are just a few of the benefits of the 4-year system, but there are definitely more. After two years at Queen's, these are the ones that most resonate with me. I am a current Queen's Commerce student graduating in 2014 and part of the High-School Liaison Team. Feel free to message me if you have any questions about the program. If you are looking for a specific forum to get answers to your Queen's Commerce questions, check out the QC Class of 2016 Official Facebook Page: http://on.fb.me/HnjxDn.
