I agree with ktel, you're using fallacious reasoning.

Right, because being racist/prejudiced is the same as being annoyed about someone complaining about petty high school problems.

It's not like I'm singling him out either. I would call out any other person who said something like this as being ignorant and offensive.

So now I'm racist?

I regret posting this, I've made myself look like a completely bad person without the intention of doing so.

Medic, my argument isn't even with you anymore. I accepted your apology, I'm addressing brady's attack on me. I don't think you are a bad person.

I don't mean to be rude...but do you know the difference between being racist/prejudiced and stereotyping? I hate it when people pull the racist card all the time. Stereotyping definitely isn't racism. And almost EVERYONE stereotypes. Stereotyping is applying certain perceived traits of a group to anyone who might be a part of that group; like claiming that anyone who's into Star Trek or science fiction is a virgin, or that all women want money. There's a huge difference between those two. Racism involves an open HATRED for an ethnic group such as blacks or mexicans and may involve using derogatory terms to describe them; like being a member of the KKK.

So no, I don't think Medic93 was being racist/prejudiced and I think that you calling him racist is probably more offensive and ignorant than what he did.

Again, I don't mean to be rude. It's just my opinion. We can agree to disagree, but Medic93 just told you called him racist and all you can say is you already apologized so I don't have a problem? That seems so self-righteous. Maybe YOU should apologize to him.

And I wasn't attacking you, I think what you were doing is more of an attack, all I'm doing is saying that I didn't think it was fair to call him ignorant and offensive, I think the way StellaSparx said it was more appropriate - Medic93 may have used fallacious reasoning, but it is quite a stretch to say he was ignorant and offensive.

Thanks for backing me up, I honestly don't believe that I'm a racist individual I just made some inexperienced assumptions about another culture because of 2 videos, my opinions were merely out of anger. I know stuff like the bystander effect happens virtually everywhere.

I'm glad we have this settled out, I apologize for this whole thing, it seems to have instigated a lot of controversy.

I agree and thousands of other people watching that had the same opinion as you - that doesn't make those thousand people racist, any everyday person would have a normal emotional response watching that on the news, we're human.

ktel, I'm sorry you felt I was being rude to you and we can forgive and forget, but I really think you should apologize to Medic93 (even in private inbox or something) especially when he apologized to you for doing something so minor compared to what you did. I think it's fair, and it won't look good on you if you just ignore your flaws and do not work to fix them head on.

This thread is full of laughs, but this right here takes the cake. The fact that this guy is so worried/sensitive about having offended someone is even more comical than the two videos of people being horribly injured (possibly even dead) while others do nothing to help (which is immensely comical to me.)

Stop being a pussy dude.
