Well that is unbelievably upsetting... I have lots of friends trying to get into Mac Health Sci and it makes me sick that people are getting their apps written by other ppl and can potentially take spots away from the deserving applicants... what's next, will this guy pay someone to write the MCAT too? Upsetting but what can you do? If your friends get in, they can sleep easy knowing it was based off their own merits. I guess in the end anybody could be doing this and there'd be no way to know :p Love your sig btw Very true... Oh thanks, ya I really don't know what it is about the guy... there's something about him that just makes my heart skip a beat, something i can't quite put a finger on. OK OUTTA CURIOSITY i've been creeping this forum for quite some time/ posting sporadically... but i'm just wondering if you guys could share a little more about your non-academic hobbies/ interests :) (this goes for all the upper years already in health sci as well :D)
if by some miracle i DO get in, i'd like to know what kinds of fabulous people i could be spending the next 4 years of my life with. I count among my current interests: personal and peer evaluation, personal awareness, problem identification, problem solving, peer collaboration, and professional communication. And eating pizza. hahaha pizza! right on the mark. :) wish i could throw professional pizza-eater on my resume sometimes. Those were just a summary of the last week of my life (outside of Chemistry). Like Andrew, I love cooking (but that kid is like, 'nother level--Thomas Keller in training), painting and drawing (cue: set design for the BHSc fashion show, and sweater design for our year-specific sweaters :) ), and food, nutrition, exercise (Inquiry project; BHSc runs intramurals and different sports clubs--and a running club). And that's not even mentioning the dozens upon dozens of clubs run through the McMaster Student Union as opposed to BHSc, or the volunteering opportunities etc. Or you can be a nerd like me who just really loves to learn about everything/anything, in which case you get access to a lot of Scientific Journals which, once you learn how to read them, are freaking fascinating (...okay maybe not everyone shares that sentiment haha.) Basically, you'll find a niche for any of your interests here, and if not, it's super easy to make up a club and find others who share your interests, or to try to incorporate them as one of your projects for Inquiry. Life doesn't revolve around marks here, which is awesome, once you're able to let go of that. I really wish y'all the best--and try to relax a bit. I know easier said than done, but all you can do is wait it out and pray that the odds are [ever] in your favor. McMaster BHSc 2015

Euphenism1 wrote:@Hunter94, I like your second response the best, out of all three. Your first one had really good diction, but I found the periodic strange, Yoda-like phrases and some grammar inconsistencies confusing. Maybe it's just me but I felt like those detracted from what you were trying to say.
The second response was very well written and flowed quite well. I really did enjoy the suspense you built up by not revealing the word in the beginning, but for me personally I was totally expecting you to reveal it somewhere in the middle so as it dragged on (despite the eloquent phrases) I grew slightly annoyed :P I have to stress that it was very well done though (and very philosophical :D)
The third was very personal and I think that adds a lot of character and flavor to your application.
Good job over all :)
Aww I didn't get to read it. Dang. lesson1 wrote:haha anyway, TELL ME BOUT YOURSELVES :) Like Andrew and a few others, I like cooking, but I'm more of a baker really lol. Some of my favorite series include The Game of Thrones and the Millennium Trilogy :D I'm also really interested in World Issues. The newspaper's always good, but I enjoy TIME magazine much more. I'm kind of a gamer too....League of legends anyone? :X I also really love creative writing, I've had this dream for a while of writing short stories... Look, I'm not going to get into something huge with you here. I will say that I've been interested in health sci and reading this thread for a couple months now. Yesterday I was bored and googled "Mac Health Sci Supp Apps" and was reading threads from studentawards, macinsiders, and several other forums to get a feel for what others did in comparison to mine, and for what admissions were looking for (little late but whatever). I came across those threads on the body building site, was pretty shocked that people were willing to pay people, and then it dawned on me that the username looked familiar. It's a pretty obscure name, and I really doubt it's someone else. Quote:i registered here on either june or july, and the guy's join date there is august. Just because the the two accounts did not register at the same time does not mean the same person did not make both. That doesn't confirm nor deny anything... Quote:if it was me, i would have been smart enough to at least delete the thread, I sure hope you would be, although apparently not. Quote:not going to point any fingers, but since you started this whole crap, if i had to guess who it was, you made the account with my screen name after seeing me here in hopes of "TROLOLOL"ing me. Get over yourself. Seriously, why would I, or anybody else for that matter, waste the time to do this. Quote:oh, so it was you and him (probably one person considering join date) that did this, lol? you're mad because i called you out on your 2011 acceptance troll? If me and whoever that was is the same person(I can honestly say we're not) how is it possible that we're the same guy you caught lying last week, and now want to get back at you? How could we possibly time travel to August of last year and create an account to "frame" you, and then go back to January to post incriminating content? Think that through. Quote:also funny how just as i post this the thread gets deleted I find the timing very funny too. If I were out to troll you, why would I delete all the "fake" evidence? Wouldn't I want to keep it for everyone to see? Perhaps it was you who deleted it, upset that you got caught? Luckily you're not the only one who can take a screenshot, I thought the multiple threads might mysteriously disappear too. In the end, only you know if it was you who made that account and did that. In the very small chance that it wasn't you, I apologize. In the more likely event that it was, then you now know you did get caught, which is the reason why I posted. As I said, only you know will know, and I'll leave it at that. And I'm not trolling, TROLOLOL happens to be an inspiring song loved by millions.

why don't you try googling the name before you try accusing someone of something in the first place? if it's not you, then maybe you'd figure out it's a common name (in the gaming community) indexed millions of times on google, though even then, i find it hard to believe that someone else would do this now let's get this straight: i got a 90 in english. i had a tutor. is this illegal? i don't think so, in fact, you'd be surprised to find out that basically every asian (i'm half white and half chinese) in the class had a tutor (it's the sad reality, unfortunately). the final exam was an in-class essay, most of the essays were in class, so what the tutor does to help is minimal. if at all, i would have asked my tutor to write/edit my essay, not a bodybuilding forum on the offtopic section which is a 4chan /b/ equivalent. there's also many websites that offer professional essay writing services for money, so really, does it make sense for me to be asking 4chan for an essay? take your time to go through what kind of posts are on that forum and you will realize what i am talking about. if you want to continue this conversation, take it to pm. this thread is not about me, it's about the program. unless of course, you know, you come across some more "excruciating evidence" that it's me, then you can post that here to humiliate me on an online forum where nobody knows who is who. I find it hard to respond when you keep editing your posts. I don't care that you had a tutor and would have gotten them to help you cheat, or would have went to a professional site, the fact remains that somebody with the same username (a starcraft player that the majority of the population has never heard about), applying in the same year, who definitely knows the forum (they quoted an earlier essay) DID solicit on that site. My point has been made adequately and I am done with the conversation as it can only go in circles.

You both need to stop posting, you look ridiculous. There was nothing in the messages that implied he was getting someone to write it for him, he was getting help. There are no 'rules' against this. To each his own. McMaster 2015 Bachelor of Health Science

on a separate note: when does mcmaster send out decisions for ontario students? (i bet this question's been answered a million times over on this thread but i gave up trying to find an answer- sorry for the redundancy!) sometime in early May, right? & does anyone know about the decision timeline for mcmaster's iSci (integrated science) as well?
