I recently got a residence offer from Chestnut for a double room since i'm a first year student. I think it's a great residence although it has some downsides. However, what i'm worried about the most is the roommate. I heard some horrible stories about roommates and they freaked me out. That's why i am trying to find a roommate beforehand. Did anyone else get a residence offer from Chestnut?

Well, I know someone who was at Chestnut in his first year and he didn't get along with his roommate at all. His roommate was really messy and unorganized, he didn't even shower which made him unable to study and sleep in the room so he used to go to his friend's room and sleep on the floor instead. This is one of the stories I remember him telling me.

This is one of the stories I remember him telling me. I think that's a very, very, very, very unusual and rare case. Honestly, think of how many people in Canada don't shower. Now think of how many happen to be your age. Now think of how many go to U of T. Then think about how many will be put into Chestnut Residence. Now realize how it's virtually impossible to have that person as a roommate. Yeah, it kinda sucked that that happened to your friend but I wouldn't worry about such a random story, lol Waterloo Mechanical Engineering '17 Applied: McGill :) :( :( :( Western :) Ivey :( U of T :) :) Waterloo :) :) :)

You guys got offers from residence already? I'm still anxiously waiting for Innis to give me an offer at their residence. Which college did you guys apply to, and how did you get your offer of residence? Is it by email? UofT St. George - Innis College - Life Science Class of 2016!

Hey, I recently got an offer from Chestnut also, double room. Chestnut seems to be a really great res, with really big rooms and good food, but it's soooo far from UTSG ): and not to mention, expensive. But do you guys think it's worth it to pay that much for a good res (but far from campus) ? Applied to:
Carleton-Environmental Studies [Accepted] U of T-Environmental Studies [Accepted] UWaterloo-Environment & Business [Accepted] York-Environmental Studies [Accepted] UOttawa-Environmental Studies [Accepted]
