I have applied to Ottawa U for biomed, Carleton U for biotech and science in Queen's university. Now I don't understand why I haven't gotten a single acceptance letter yet. My marks are ok, I have the following:

BTA3O. 2011/01 1 91
ENG3U. 2011/01 1 80
PAF3OQ 2011/01 1 92
SBI3U. 2011/01 1 90
MCR3U. 2011/06 1 94
SCH3U. 2011/06 1 86
SPH3U. 2011/06 1 90
TTJ3C. 2011/06 1 90
ENG4U. 2011/07 1 80
IDC3O. 2012/01 1 91
MDM4U. 2012/01 1 93
MHF4U. 2012/01 1 92
SCH4U. 2012/01 1 91

Furthermore, I took English during summer and got an 80 on it. I don't know if I should retake it again or not, for now it seems that I am but I don't want that to hurt my marks for any other class. I have no issues speaking English etc. It's just that I was introduced to the idea of an essay at 11th grade. Anything prior to that was just being able to speak properly because I studied overseas :S

At this point I don't know what to do with my life, I'm panicking and I'm scared because my friends already got accepted into biomed. I feel like a failure in my life.

First off, chill!

Don't call yourself a failure, there are people who don't even graduate high school, so cool it!

You have until May 30th to get an offer I'm pretty sure.

Did you hear back from the universities about receiving your application? Your marks look good to me and it would be strange for you to not get an acceptance.

On the app, was English your first language?

Do you need to write a language test?
I'm not exactly certain on this but if you have not studied in Canada for the last 4 years you may have to right some sort of language test.

You should ask guidance about this or email the universities.

A bright individual such as yourself should consider learning a trade. You will be very successful then.

That's the thing, Carleton will not process your application, unless they see 6 4u marks. Currently, I only see 4, so they will wait until they can see proofs of your 2 other 4 U marks. Same thing goes with Ottawa U. But other than that, you will get accepted guarantee.Go into your Carleton Central, and tell me if you see as an application status: "Incomplete items outstanding".

I got into Ottawa with 4 completed U marks very early even though one of the mark was really crappy. Your marks are good and you should get in hopefully soon.

Good Luck !

You don't need to stress! You have pretty good marks for Science! I wouldn't be this stressed unless it was May. Like SuccessIsLife said, you haven't completed the 6 4U marks for Carleton (and the other schools) so the best thing to do now is focus on school.

Are you kidding me? It's not late at all. Most offers are given out May. :(

@Ritsuka

In terms of Queens acceptance, they are looking for 6 completed 4U credits, including their prerequisites. I noticed that you didn't take calculus (MCV4U i believe) and that's a prerequisite.

I have a friend who moved here from Lebanon. She says universities won't send out acceptances to people who don't meet the English requirements (something like 3 years in an English-speaking country) until they get the results of your TOEFL/other English proficiency test. Her marks are better than mine and I've been accepted - I'm sure they'll offer you a spot after the test :) contact the universities individually, you should be able to talk to somebody who can tell you about the process.

Good luck!! :)
