Accepted by University of Waterloo for Mathematics/Business Administration Honours Co-op and The University of Western Ontario for MN:Management & Organizational StudiesCan't really make up my decision because i don't know much about the offer that waterloo gave me but it sounds okay for me. Based on the programs, which one is a better choice?

do you have aeo with your bmos acceptance? because if you don't then UW/WLU bmath/bba >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>bmos The DD gets you coop as well as two degrees, and the laurier business far outdoes bmos anyways. so with both laurier and waterloo, I say go for the DD 100%. I would also suggest you do some research on those programs though (the DD in particular) to see what each one's about. Also make sure you are good with the math/ are good/fast math student and are prepared to work hard. Laurier BBA 2016

I am not really lazy but thanks for encourage me to be hard work :D hmm I wasn't aware that waterloo had that program as a single degree, all I know about is this one : http://mathbus.uwaterloo.ca/ . Perhaps caveman can help out here? If it is single degree and normal bmos, I still think waterloo is better, because it has co-op while the bmos degree I've heard is not that great (especially when half the people leave because they are going into ivey afterwards). So if it was me, I would still choose waterloo. As for the username/what I said thing, I wasn't referring to you being lazy :P:P:P I only said that because waterloo is known for being very technical and mathematics based -I just meant that you should make sure you won't have problems with the math (you might have to work harder at waterloo to get a good mark). Sorry if it read wrong :P Laurier BBA 2016

LOL, i am just joking.
Back to serious stuff, i don't really know Math/BA is a good program to start with finance, for math, i am not really interest into. If the program is good, it's okay, i can handle it. About coop, it's hard to say....because it depends on how the coop carry out During coop, if I am not getting any "big" project, coop sounds like part-time for me, somehow make me feel pointless. So i am not so sure about it.
Or should i choose UWO management and go to ivey afterwards like half of the people did ?
(And once again appreciate for your help, the university programs make me really feel dizzy....ORZ)

okay now I'm confused ... so you did get an AEO offer?? As for co-op; I'm pretty sure that waterloo has excellent co-op placements (not stupid stuff), but again, this question is better addressed to caveman (I'm sure he'll pop up, if not, send him a PM). Laurier BBA 2016

To reiterate Windsongs' concern, do you have AEO status? BMOS as a stand alone program isn't stellar for finance and I wouldn't necessarily recommend it unless you're keen on getting into Ivey. That being said, if you do have AEO status, I would recommend Ivey just because it is indeed good for finance. Also, don't underestimate co-op. Even if you just have a title, that's more than a LOT of first/second years can say in MOS. Being guaranteed some semblance of co-op is good, and if you think of the alternative of trying to find summer work on your own, it's a good trade-off. The University of Western Ontario Class of 2015 BMOS with AEO Status

if you are not going into ivey, then waterloo math/bba would be the better choice in overall aspect. Queen's University Bachelor of Commerce Class of 2016

Don't come to Waterloo for math. You don't care enough about math and that will make it very difficult for you to succeed. The math/business administration (single degree) program is first and foremost a math program. If you don't want to study math, don't go into the program. UW math isn't easy, especially if you don't want to be studying math. UW/WLU Math/Business DD - 2016 President - Double Degree Club

Well...i don't think i can get in AEO since my avg. belongs to mid 80's. North wrote:

If you only applied to those 3 programs, then I think you are sort of stuck :S But basically your choices: Western Bmos: -easier -no coop -program reputation is not that good UW Math and business (if this is one degree from UW only (what I understood from North's post)): -coop -better than bmos or UTM -math =hard. as north said -much much much harder to do well if you are not interested in something/don't want to do it -especially when it's at an advanced level UTM (no idea which program you applied to): -okay rep -bad because something about it's notoriety according to you :P Laurier BBA 2016

UTM (no idea which program you applied to): -okay rep -bad because something about it's notoriety according to you :P yeah...these are the only universities which offered me. about UTM, it's commerce program i heard from friends that a lot of people there are chinese...so you know, avg. marks to the limit... it's notoriety refers to people who study in UTM seems work overseas which i learnt from other posts in the forum. ( i cannot find caveman, i can't search him, can someone send his link to me so that i can pm him?)

Okay so UTM is out for you. I would say then that you have to decide between UW and BMOS. As for caveman, I can't give you a link. Search this forum for threads on waterloo, and he should be one of the people who answers questions. Laurier BBA 2016

BMOS does have co-op with decent statistics actually, but it's only available to upper years (by that point, most people in BMOS have either been flunked out of the program or are in Ivey). The University of Western Ontario Class of 2015 BMOS with AEO Status

Well, i am not saying that there's entirely no chance for UTM, since the program commerce contains finance In fact, my first choice would be UTM but i just want to compare UW and BWOS to see whether which one is better or even is a better choice than UTM.

oh then if you like UTM -or if you are good with it at least, I say choose it, definitely! Because BMOS isn't that good, and UW might give you problems in terms of the math/making you learn something you dont want to. Laurier BBA 2016
