I can bet you $100 right now that if you are on waitlist for queen's you aren't getting in.

ouch! that's a harsh thing to say. You dont know how many people are going to reject their offers and what the averages are of the people on the wait-list.
Good luck to everyone on the list, I hope you get into Queens! :)

It is the fact. You can go look at the posts from last year and year before that about Queen's waitlist. They have sent out more than enough acceptances and only 3 or 4 people on the waitlist will have a chance.

Yeah 90.0% isn't THAT high..., sure, it's good, but I could see why you got wait-listed.

And maybe you hadn't taken one of the top 5 courses yet?

OT: If your average is above 90%, you don't have to do the PSE. They say you do, but you'll get accepted anyway.

xJordan, your average was 85% by Queen's calculations.Everyone needs to calculate it by school. Sadly, they weren't going to look at your philosophy grade (though its impressively high!).

I recall from past student award threads that lots of waitlisted students got in and posted about it on here. Applicants actually went DOWN this year from engineering at Queens from last year (if you look at the stats on OUAC) and students with an 84% on the waitlist last year got in. So don't give up yet!

Where exactly did you find the information saying there was less applicants this year?

^ Yeah that is it.

There is a ton of data out there, isn't there? So often the data doesn't match what a bunch of highschool kids are saying on this forum....and usually in a good way :)

TigerBlood, no one wants your pessimistic posts on here. It's one thing to tell us we have no chance of getting in, but it's another thing to come back and be an assh0le about it. I found this thread (from two years ago, but still), where people got in with 83.4%... http://forums.studentawa...ineering-Wait-list.aspx

PS. I also found a thread where you said you too were on the wait list last year and didn't get in.. still mad or what?

Life is hard and you aren't going to get everything you want.
but what do I know, I am still mad about getting waitlisted from queens!

I was waitlisted on May 16. Received my acceptance today:

"Dear ________,

Congratulations and welcome to Queen’s! You are invited to join the class of 2016! We are very pleased to be able to let you know that we are in the process of mailing your offer of admission package to the Bachelor of Science in Engineering program.

Your offer will show on your SOLUS Student Center later this afternoon. In addition to reviewing your offer on SOLUS, there is information concerning whether you will receive scholarships, bursaries and awards.

Your offer will be available on the OUAC website tomorrow.

Please note that the response date for your offer of admission is June 1, 2012. If you plan to live in Queen’s residence, in order to maintain your guarantee of residence, you must apply online and ensure we have your residence deposit by June 8, 2012.

We have expedited the delivery of your offer package. Please reply to this email if you have any questions.

We look forward to seeing you in September!

Cha Gheill !!

The Undergraduate Admission Team"

My top 5 marks that Queen's looks at were:

English 77
Advance Functions 90
Chemistry 90
Physics 84
Calculus 88

Giving me a top 5 average of 85.8%. I believe that I had a well written PSE, judging by the fact that it got me admission to Queen's Sci 7 days after i submitted it (which was on the deadline, LOLOL).

Congrats GhettoUniversity! Question: how did they contact you? phone/email, or both?

If anyone else got accepted off the wait list please share you marks on here.

Well, from what i heard from Queen's in the university fair, they said you will be guaranteed an offer if ur avg is 87+.

I got acceptance in early-March with a 88% avg of 5 courses.

English---90
Advance Function---82
chem 11-- 90
physics 11---87
Technological Design---93

I think my PSE is kind of avg.
