Has anyone else received this update on their application?
Our evaluation of your application indicates that you are a strong candidate; however, due to the competitive nature of the program we aren't able to provide you with an offer of admission at this time. We will be making more offers of admission in mid-June and will provide you with an update no later than June 15. You can continue to check the status of your application here on the Student Service Centre.
What are the honest chances of getting in still after being waitlisted? It seems quite difficult because it seems many others have been received the same message too.

To be brutally HONEST, because UBC is such a "prestigious" university or so it makes itself seem like it the chances are not in your favor. People who receive offers to UBC, normally take it. However, that also depends on what faculty you've applied for and how much scholarship money is involved as UBC hasn't given out a whole lot this year compared to other "prestigious" schools in Canada like UT, McGill, etc so that helps your chances a little bit more. Like I said again, UBC is, I believe is highly regarded as a TOP 40 public school around the world. Good luck guys, I mean it.

I think chances are low.... SO many people from my school got into UBC this year, and a majority of them are picking UBC over UofT/Mcgill.

For any school the chances of getting off the waitlist are low. They can happen (happened to me once, but I am sure there were other circumstances that pushed them to give me the offer) but chances are low. That is because schools always accept more students than the number of spots they have. So unless a lot of people reject their offer, your chances are bit on the low side (but there is still a chance so dont lose hope) Accepted:

I just got accepted to UBC Arts as my second choice. However, my first choice applied science's status still says the strong candidate thing.
