Before my essay was marked, I had an 83%. I got 75% on my essay which is very bad for me as I'm trying to keep my mark in the 80s as I clearly cannot attain a high 80 or low 90 :( My teacher said we are able to redo an essay, but it's due next Friday on the 27th and we have the until Wednesday the 25th to decide if we want to continue with or drop the course.
I am freaking out and stressed to the max here. We have one more essay due (10% of my grade) and I am doubting every single thing I am doing with it. She is the hardest English teacher I have ever had, and I am struggling. If I have a mark lower than 80% I was thinking of dropping the course. But if I take it during the school year, I have to juggle physics, chemistry, and kinesiology (this is the most time consuming course besides english), and I am not sure if I can handle it.
What should I do guys? I am scared that my english mark will affect my chances of getting into a nursing program, and that my average will be really low. Should I keep going through with the course even if I don't have an 80 average? I'm scared I'll drop after the exam as it is another essay. I need advice I'm freaking out....

First don't panic! BREATH!!! Lmao Second: Look at the school your applying to for nursing and look at the nursing 2012 forum on studentawards to see what kind of marks people needed and had to maintain to get admission Third: Check the policy of that school you want to go to regarding retaking classes. Fourth: Talk to your teacher about your chances of getting the minimum mark and ideal mark and what SPECIFIC things you need to achieve in order to get that. Fifth: Make your decision! Option Six if you choose to continue to stick with it: Work your butt off! If u need any help with editing or w.e. I can help if you would like...I was in the same position as you last summer...I took grade 12 english and doing these steps (mainly 1 and 4 and 6) I went from 80 to 90 as my final mark. P.S. Why are you taking physic if you are going into nursing (not needed)? Good luck in chemistry and biology. Kinesiology (I'm assuming is like exercise science is just a lot to memorize...but a lot of it comes from what you learn in biology) Best of luck! ^-^ Free Publicity? I think it's good to read the Nursing thread in this forum but at the same time you should go and do some homework too on the program you are interested.
If you look at Ryerson or Western Nursing program, the pre requisite is English, Bio, Chem and AF or Calculus or Data Management . Just take 2 more easier course that you can manage and you will be ok. Just because somebody else took Physics , it doesn't mean you have to do the same thing. Physics could have been their bird course.
Just check the thread to see what average people got in with into these programs to give you an idea. Be smart and do some homework.

thts exactly wat i was gonna say durian so usually most nursing programs require english, bio, chem and one of the 3 maths, i recall there being one school that required advanced functions but i dont remember anyone requiring calculus... i guess it is good to take all those courses to keep ur options open if ur not sure u want to go into nursing and u change ur mind to like biomed or engineering when it comes to actually applying...so if ur sure tht nursing is wat u want to do when going for first year...that is basically wat u need to do... I did read through the nursing forum :P Most people got in with high 80 averages, and some took physic and calc..others did not. I'm just unsure of myself that's all. Thanks guys :) I'm thinking about nursing, but I'm not 100% sure. That's why I'm a bit stressed on taking calculus and physics as I struggle with math...hmmm

u should definetly try to find out more info and look through those books about programs offered at universities/colleges (if u do...do nursing collaborative is an option) well u dont have to take calculus yet until u do advanced functions...so if advanced functions is hard for u...drop calculus ASAP and go into another course that gets u a good high mark or has a light course load... as for physics...truly good luck Free Publicity? I will get on that after i am done my assignments haha :) Hmm, I'm not sure hat a nursing collab is but ill look into that too
I'll follow your advice on the calculus bit. Maybe I will take data management, as i've read it was more useful in nursing.
Hahaha, physics....I'm just lucky the teacher I had marked us based on how much we understand and not if we got the correct answer or not.
thanks!
