I want to be a pharmacist.
I really really want to be a pharmacist.
I also do no want to spend too much time at school.
The U of S has 90 places in the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition.
Around 500 people applied and 15/90 of them had completed one year of university and all the rest were people who had degrees and whatnot.
I'm trilingual. I do volunteer work. I have won essay competitions, but I want to Upgrade my Wow Factor. Any ideas of what else I might do that could be mentioned in my Personal Profile Test when I apply to the program?
Like I said, I really want to be a pharmacist.

Yay, a fellow pharmacist wannabe. :)

I'm in the same boat aas you.. trilingual, tons of ECs, etcetc..
but I'm in no rush to get there.

The best thing you can do right now if you have all the ECs and what not is try to volunteer/get involved with an organization similar to your career interest.
I know when you apply to most pharmacy colleges, along with the PCAT, you have to write a letter of intent including any relevant experience, so if you had experience in the pharmacy field, it would make your letter look a lot better.

First of all, are you from Sask? U of S will only accept so many people from other provinces.

Pharmacy experience does help. This doesn't necessarily mean work experience, so if you already have a job or feel like you don't have enough time for a job, then try to do something like a job shadow. Contact a few pharmacies around town, asking if they'd be willing to take you on for a few shifts.

Does U of S require an interview? I can't remember. If so, I'd imagine it would be pretty important. Typically when a school requires an interview, they invite all people they consider potentially excellent students and use the interview as the final filter.

The personal profile is likely also highly considered, especially if an interview is not required. If you want someone to check it over, send it my way.

Hi there Matt -- I had a quick question for you:
I was just wondering if you had any insight on how to compare between these UBC and UofT pharmacy programs that could help me decide between the 2 schools. I have one week left to make me decision and its creeping up faster than I thought. My initial thought was to go to U of T as it is closer to my hometown etc but having just visited Vancouver and really enjoying the city and finding out that the tuition at UBC for pharm is almost half that of U of T's I am undecided. I've read a lot of your forum responses and advice and thought you had some very useful points so hopefully you can help with this dilemma too!
Thanks in advance!
