Being a guy is so much easier.... you show up with the same tux as some other guy and who the ____ notices (or cares)?

lol that is true. But a lot of guys stress about dates. And buying corsages and all that stuff...

I haven't even heard the word prom mentioned by a single guy at my school... I don't even know when/where it is.

With my school, every year there seems to be a conflicting event going on at the same time as prom such as OFSAA soccer or something. Last year, the guys had to go to a soccer tournament, and their prom dates FREAKED on them.

I bought a really nice red dress, which was totally out of character for me, and posted a picture of it on my school's prom dress Facebook page. Then a few days later, my friend points out to me that another girl just posted the EXACT SAME DRESS but said she bought it before me. The store would only give either of us store credit and not a refund, so we discussed it - I don't actually know her very well - and we decided to just wear the darn things and stay out of the same pictures. tongue

Regardless, I'm excited for prom. I told my boyfriend he has to officially ask me even though it's assumed that we're going together. I'm still waiting. He's got until June...

take a twin picture with her! :D

and ooh I want a red dress... though I'm not even a high schooler... I just get dresses randomly sometimes :P

Haha I definitely can't wait for grad! I don't usually do parties and stuff, but I am totally going all out for my prom. I guess it's because it will be the last sort of "send-off" party to see my friends in school again, since we are all splitting up after grad. I already got my dress, just need accessories and a hairstyle and I'm good! And to top it off, so far I plan on going stag - which I am actually kind of grateful for. The only reason I would want a grad date is for when all the grads march up in their suits and gowns and get pictures taken in front of everyone; other than that, having a date wouldn't be as fun as going solo cheers

Commencement = stupidest idea ever.

Do they really think I am going to travel back from Queen's or wherever the hell I am just to stand on stage and collect a couple awards? I refuse to grace them with my presence. My friend is going to Stanford. WTF would he come back? Stupid.

Oh, our school has it in June so technically before anyone graduates. That's why we are called "potential graduates" at the moment. Haha.

The ones at your school who organize it must have been dropped on their heads one less time.

I think it's better though, instead of trying to gather grads who went to another country for uni and whatnot later.

^ That's what I'm saying. It's way better. I would go to commencement if it was in June.

What I said was that the people who organized it at my school were obviously dropped on their heads at least one more time.

Ah, sorry for my misinterpretation. But they are chasing us for grad fees. $35. I guess it's reasonable for caps & gowns plus refreshements and venue rental.

lol Don't try to be smart you're an idiot. I said why do you guys have it so weird .. meaning why can't some of your classmates show up to it

and why some of you have it even before you guys actually officially get the high school diploma.
