There's a deal at rogers right now where you can get a free "add-on" to one of their plans. Basically, you can add unlimited BBM/text, unlimited internet access, free my5, etc. to any of their plans. Their plans are all between the $30-$50 price range, you might want to check it out any Rogers Wireless stores. The best thing is you don't even need to sign a 3 year contract to access these deals. They usually come out in August. I'm on a $50 BB student plan with Rogers (my5 unlimited LD/texting). McMaster Bachelor of Health Sciences 2011 U of Guelph-OVC Doctor of Veterinary Medicine 2015

What carrier are you with currently? If you've been with the big 3 (Rogers Bell Telus), you could call in and try to get a retention plan, those are always better than the ones that are advertised. Waterloo Kinesiology Honours Co-op - Class of 2016

You should check out virgin mobile, i just got a smartphone plan from them a couple weeks ago, its 40 bucks a month with unlimited texting, 150 minutes plus unlimited evenings and weekends and 100mb of data for facebook and stuff. And if you don't want a contract they have this thing called a supertab, where each month part of your bill goes towards the cost of the phone, and whenever you decide to get a new phone there are no cancellation fees, but you have to pay them the balance owing on the price of the phone

While we're on the topic of cellphones, does anyone know if you can "suspend" a contract? Cause I was wondering what happens to people who study abroad. Do they honestly just have to throw away $120 - $200 for a phone they're not using?
