I heard the mark taken in private school may be penalized by there isn't a defined amount. Could someone please comment? No, I haven't, but I have taken a grade 11 course online and a grade 12 course in summer school. I don't think it should matter as long as the school is accredited by the Ontario Ministry of Education. However, since you are applying to the Faculty of Mathematics, they sometimes adjust your overall admission score (I believe), but there's no indication about how much, as it's probably on an individual basis. It shouldn't greatly impact anything. University of Waterloo '17 Software Engineering

snowbunny wrote:Anyone get into Mechatronics or heard of anyone getting into Mechatronics? If you got in what was your avg? I changed my application on OUAC from mechatronics to chemical in late Feb. Although on Quest it says that my application to mechatronics was withdrawn, and I've received no offer via email, it appeared that they had already offered me admission to mechatronics prior to that change. I found out after I received the admission package... My average from first semester was 97%. Unfortunately I have to wait til May for my chemical eng. application to be considered. :( University of Waterloo Chemical Engineering '17

I'm surprised that they're sending out acceptances now, seeing as there are only a couple of weeks left before the second set of marks go in. It would make sense for them to wait a little longer just to see those.

Does anyone know if they weigh all prerequisites the same when making decisions because I messed up on chemistry. My other marks are above average though. So, maybe they wouldn't count chemistry as much because comp engineering doesn't involve ALOT of chemistry? Waterloo Computer Engineering Class of 2017
