It's a great program. Considering it myself. Only thing is it's not getting the recognition it deserves because it's a new program. I'm sure within the next 10 yrs or so, it's going to be as competitive as Math/CA. Math/FARM leads you to your CFA/PMR designation, which imo, are much harder designations to obtain than CA (at least in the case of CFA). It's great for those who're set on financial analysis cause it skips all the boring parts of business and gets straight to the fun stuff (ie. finance), which in a way is an incentive (for me) cause I find accounting (esp auditing) very boring. For that reason, I'm hesitant about Math/CA.

I don't think anyone really wants to audit - it's about the designation and the potential and flexibility you will have!

Thx for the info:) so how new is this program?Any students graduated yet? Well, I also know that there's a double honors program combining Farm and Actuarial science. Is it hard to do that? And what about the coop job opportunity in the program?

I'm not sure how new this program is (I actually really want to know myself)

And yes, there are many students that are doing FARM/Actsci double major, which is extremely difficult imo b/c they're very different areas. However, if you choose to do this, it IS possible and can be done. On the other hand, an excellent combination is FARM/Stats which is ideal because most finance involves stats. And then there is the other option of doing a Computer Science minor on the PRM side(but I guess CFA side is good too), which is yet another good choice as these careers are very technical based.

And from what I've seen about FARM on waterloo's co-op site, FARM actually has a huge list of co-op opportunities. Take a look here:

Unless that's new - no. That's for Math/CA.
