I have been offered admission by University of Waterloo for Life Sciences (Co-op) and UTSC Cell and Molecular Biology. Please guide me as to which one I should choose?
I've heard that there are better chances of getting a co-op placement in University of Waterloo, as compared to UTSC, is it true?
Also, which is a better program? I want to pursue a career in Medicine, and want to become a gynaecologist.
I had an average of 85.5% in first semester, but in mid terms of second semester, I have a 95 in Calculus and 93 in Biology. I hope to get in McMaster for Life and Health Sciences as well. If I do get in, which one would be better for me?
Thank you so much!

If you want to go into Medicine it doesn't matter where you go for your undergraduate degree, which I'm sure you know. I would recommend waiting until you get all of your choices, before making a final decision. It seems like Mac is the place to be for Life Sciences this year as the cut-off average is currently 89%, which is on the high end of the scale. The course offerings in first year are pretty much identical to what you would find at other schools, except for Human A&P, which is offered to Life Sci students in first year by the department of Kinesiology. I would definitely recommend going to Waterloo if you are interested in coop, and UTSC if you want the perks of a UT education in a smaller environment.

Thanks a lot for replying!
I have a few more queries. Is there an option for co-op in Life Sciences in McMaster?
Waterloo, I've heard, has a very good co-op job placement rate, as compared to UTSC. However, I don't know if UTSC Cell and Molecular Biology would be a better program, or Life Sciences at Waterloo. Do you have any idea?

Yeah I am currently in the same boat as you. Got into UW co-op for life sciences, and basically offers for every other university for life sciences (McMaster, Queens, Uft, etc...) EXCEPT Western biomed. I am debating of whether to go into co-op for a not as reputable life sci program at UW or to choose non-coop at lets say McMaster or Queens which has a more famous life science program. Plz help :/

Hi! Im actually thinking of going into medicine as well and I think I'm going to choose Mac Life Sci (unless I get my Mac Health Sci admission! ). No I don't think Mac Life Sci offers coop. Applied to:
Mcmaster- Honours Health Science I rejected Mcmaster- LIfe Sciences I ACCEPTED! Queens- Science ACCEPTED! UTSG - Life Sciences [Human Biology- Neuroscience] ACCEPTED! UTM - Life Science [Biology for Health Science] ACCEPTED!
QUEEN'S SCIENCE 2016

Well I have now been offered admission from University of Toronto St. George for Life sciences too. I am in even more dilemma now. I didn't choose McMaster coz it doesn't have co op, and I think it would be so much better to go into a co op program, since it'd not only give me experience in my own field, but I'd also earn some money which would mean I would be in comparatively less debt.
But University of Toronto St. George (UTSG) is a very reputed institution, and I've heard that the program is really tough. I really think it'd be worth trying, since I'm not really scared of working hard in order to score a really high gpa (which is a dire need for Med-school). (Well, hopefully I'll do well!). Given the reputation of UTSG, I don't really know if it'd be stupid to put this offer down.
Any suggestion guys? I'm basically stuck b/w choosing Co-op and a university rated among Canada's best.
Also, did anyone choose anything yet? Good luck to all!
And oh, my average is about 89.5% right now..

As long as you do better than most people thats the goal there Serious BusinessYork- African Studies --> RejectedNippissing- Commerece --> RejectedLaurentian- Communication --> RejectedAlgoma- Anishinaabemowin --> WaitingUofT- Engineering Science --> Waiting (Pleasee)
