I would like to thank Dr. Alex Brown from the University of Alberta. You helped me understand how amazing chemistry is, and how hard work does indeed pay off. I would like to thank you for your endless amount of enthusiasm and guidance that truly motivated me to excel academically. Once again, you deserve to be a first class professor, and thank you!

I'd like to make a big shout-out to Marymount Academy. Thanks for supplying the best teachers in the entire universe! You've all helped me grow into who I am today. Without you I'd be even less mature than I am now, I would be suffering from the torment of not knowing my a,b,c's or how to calculate my 2+2's, I would be deprived of lunch breaks, study dates, and overall fun away from home!

To Mr. Weiler, thanks for being a jerk-face. Even though you're a big softie underneath.

Mrs. Cameron, my first high school teacher encounter, you made entering grade 9 not so scary.

To Mr. Russell, the old scruffy teddy bear that's always forgotten, collecting dust on the shelf, although I call you out for talking too much, don't ever change. Then, another kid can call you out.

Mr. Wiecha, even though you can be a bit... surprising with your animal jokes, I wouldn't have it any other way.
Ms. Preen, the youngest of them all, and the coolest 'teach in town! Thanks for being you!

Mr. Fievoli, it's sad to know that I never had a class with you, but it feels like we do, what with all the visits and encounters. I hope that someday, you'll look at me and not think, "Oh, you again." Instead I want to hear, "I am so proud of you."

Ms. Fahner, with only one class to my name, I shed a tear. I wish that every year I could receive a “birthday dance”, but alas, until next time.
Mrs. Tourville, you’d make a great drill sergeant! Through all the tough times during the play and the business plan challenge, and the baby, we got through it! Well, you got through the baby part…

Mr. Beaton, lucky you! You never have to see me in your class ever again! Sorry for always interrupting, or being noisy, or eating noodles in front of you and making you hungry. I guess what I’m trying to say is, sorry for everything.

Mrs. Whalen/Blasutti, you always laugh at everything I say! That makes me happy! YOU make me happy!

Mr. Bartolucci, through all the short jokes, bald jokes, accidental 'almost' ball-to-the-crouch in gym class, and awkward health class conversations, you've been a great motivator!

There’s a million other teachers that I should address but these are just a few of the teachers that I had in my last two years of high school. Thank you for everything! :D

To my third grade teacher mrs.charles! Let's just be clear kids in third grade can be
Quite the handful. She was the most calm and respectful woman I have ever met. She approached
Each of us differently and helped us learn key things that we could take with us for the rest of
Our life! I remeber being a smaller kid who always got picked on and she was the only teacher go stood up for
Very kid and listened. She treated us like we were her children and she listened to all more stories no matter how pointless they
Were. She helped me feel special and for that I cannot thank her enough! Mrs Charles you should know how amazing you really are!

To my 5th grade substitute teacher, I realize that at times as a sub many teachers feel like they are given a hard time and hat students don't care about them. But I can say Mr. MacEwan taught me the most important thing an educator should teach to their students: have fun while you learn. He not only joked around with us, but he never made us feel like we were ever learning or having to do homework for the sake of doing it. He was an easy going but made the material easy to learn in a practical way by applying problems and questions in a practical way do that students would learn everything in an easy way. I can say Mr. MacEwan made the classroom a joyous place to be, not only changing my definition of what teachers can provide for their students but also the value I place upon my education.

Who would ever believe that "the cool teacher" was not just a thing featured in Hollywood? I surely wouldn't have if it wasn't for Mr. Huang at Weston Collegiate Institute.

If it was not for Mr. Huang, I would probably have left Weston a long time ago. His teaching was amazing. Somehow whenever he taught something everyone in the class understood, even the humanity students could speak the language of mathematics and chemistry when they were in his class. But to add on to that he was hilarious! He would occasionally take "punches" at any student in the class and when you were given his "look of disapproval" you were somehow overwhelmed with a sensation of guilt and comfort. Anyhow, Mr. Huang just always brought the fun into his classroom.

But its not that Mr. Huang had a great personality, was a great teacher or cared for his students, it was that he did all that and was an amazing family man. I remember, to spare personal details I will vaguely cover it, when he had a family member in crisis. All of us students would eagerly await updates hoping for the best for the family and Mr.Huang. Because we couldn't bear such a "First Class Educator" being ripped from us.

I would like to thank my amazing drama teacher of 4 years, Mrs. Cherilyn Trick. Mrs. Trick always goes above and beyond to help students in and out of her class. She runs the extra-curricular drama guild every year and helps direct and produce many different, fun plays that everyone can take part in. She is always very encouraging to her students when they ask her for help to achieve their post-secondary goals. She has personally written me 3 different recommendations for post-secondary applications and bursaries. Mrs. Trick always has her door open at lunch and after school if people need extra help or just a place to eat lunch. I have made countless good memories at drama guild and especially with Mrs. Trick. She is an amazing human being and simply a spectacular teacher, motivator, and therapist. :)

From the drama guild, and especially me: we love you, keep being awesome.

I would like to thank my science teacher, Mr. Montpellier. I have had him several times throughout my high school experience, and he has helped me realize that science is in fact what I want to pursue. Although sometimes I feel like ripping my hair out with the way that he evaluates his students, he pushes me to be the very best that I can be, and I know that I will have more success in University thanks to him. He has managed to take even the most lackluster lessons and turn them into fun classes with his nerdy jokes. I am incredibly grateful for getting the chance to know him. I cannot thank you enough, Montps. You're the best!

I want to send my "thank-you" to a very special teacher at my school. His name is Don Bennett, and he does a remarkable amount for each and every student he comes across.

I've had him for every music course I've taken and every year I've left feeling like my musical education and self have been enriched by his superior teaching and the friendly personality.

Mr Bennett, you rock, without you I would not be the person I am today, nor would I have the goals I have today!

Dear Mr. Chapman,

I just want to say thank you so much for everything for you have done for me in order to help me succeed in life.
Without your help, I would not have the knowledge I have to do mathematics. I learned a lot from having you as a teacher for just a short period of time. I got to expand my knowledge in what I already knew. I leanred brand new equations, and solutions to problems. I discovered that there wasn't just one way to determining a solution, instead there are several.
Besides math, you are that one teacher I know I can turn to for advice, answers, or you're just there to listen to anyone in need.
Like I previously told you, you are hands down my favourite teacher at Clarke Road Secondary School. You take the time to understand your students as a person and not as an equation or a number.
I know I did come to you several times just because I needed someone to talk too. Thanks again for taking the time to understand me, and be there when nobody else would. That means a lot.
In the future, I will definitely take the skills you have taught me and carry them with me throughout my lifetime. I hope to be at least half the person that you are today.
I am so thankful I got the chance to meet you, and learned all that I have. All the best!

Peter Malkovsky, Professor at Fleming College, International Trade Program, Advanced Importing Class.

Aside from magically being able to boil down years of international politics, world history, and bureaucratic documentation into a simple soup, discernible by even a kindergarten child you have enabled me to see my potential within my chosen field and as a person.

Religiously you reference the Indian Philosopher Sri Aurobindo throughout the year and at the beginning of every semester. It is his words which have become priority over all else, the rest have simply been the instruments and tools which I will use to rise in my trade.

You preach two principles. First, that "nothing can be taught", and second, that "the mind must be consulted in its own growth". You execute these words daily, you approach your position of instructor from not one angle, but from ever dimension. You simply give us the tools and set us free to explore. It is our own drive which sees us through, you suggest, you don't impose. You toss in the subtle obstacle and it is our own curiosity and ingenuity which sees us through. Let me tell you the fruit tastes all the sweeter.

We are all present for different reasons. And you embrace this. You consult us in our endeavours, showing us the potential of what can happen where we can go, and the adventures we can have getting there. You don't teach, you show us what we are capable of, assist us in our times of doubt, and see that we are prepared for the journey ahead. Offering insight, your own mistakes and triumphs, as well as introducing us to similar minds have and will always be a great foundation for our futures.

If one day I can impart these principles when faced with an eager mind, I know I will be well rewarded when they, like so many of your students, achieve success.

Peter, if you ever read this, know that from the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

Thank You.

I would like to say thank you to my grade 11 and 12 biology teacher. Mr. Matt Thompson not only helped to understand difficult parts of biology, but he made the course so much fun. He took difficult topics and turned them into real person words that everyone could understand. He defiantly made my high school experience unlike any other. He has defiantly helped me to get to where I am today. Thank you Mr. Thompson.

I would like to thank Dr. Anderson at the University of Alberta for teaching International Political Economy. This class literally changed what I thought I knew about the world, and the career I would like to have. Brilliant lecturing and clear dedication to students makes Dr. Anderson a first class educator. Thanks!!!!!

I am in my last few weeks of IB, and perhaps the greatest thanks goes to my teacher, C.Picknicki, because he never got mad that we would spend his history class cramming for another subject. He never ragged or yelled at us, just went along and trusted we would listen. More so, during crunch period to get our internal assessments in, I was so stressed with everything and almost gave up on my historical investigation. But Picknicki understood, and encouraged me to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Frankly, I scoffed at most teachers when they said this, but it somehow worked coming from Picknicki. Now, it's exam time, and I have to say, thanks, Picknicki. Hope to do you proud!

Post the name of your First Class Educator, what they taught you and how they helped you find your way—and remember, say Thank You!

My first class educator is Ms. Cepo, my grade 11 & 12 Chem teacher, and my staff advisor for Reach for the Top, Chem Club, and Science Olympics. To be honest, sometimes I spend more time in the day with her than with my friends. :S

But she's helped me to learn so much, and to develop as a person throughout the years that I've known her. Her teaching has helped me to become a more independant learner, which I know is going to be a great help when I head off to University this year. From her, I've learned how to prepare just about any chemistry lab that we could ever need to perform in our school, how winning is - just about - everything (haha), and how to make the most of my time while still having a ridiculous amount of fun.

Thanks Cepo!

Thank you to my favourite coach, Cal. You taught me how to be tough by being the very definition of it; you taught me to bring passion to everything I do by bringing your own passion everything that you do. Your support makes my life bearable when it seems unforgiving. You have become such an important person in my life- I don't know what I would do without you.

There are a couple of teachers I want to sincerely thank, but I want to give a shout-out thanks to Mr. Ross Parkinson at Langstaff Secondary School for his fun techniques in teacher history. History was never my strongest subject in elementary, and its full of facts and dates that are often very easy to forget. I would like to thank him for making the courses fun, even changing how I feel about history today. The lectures were tedious to catch up with, but the movie days, laughs and jokes we had as a class made up for all that. What more? It's just more practice for post-secondary lectures. Anyways, thank you for the amazing last 4 classes I had with you!

I would like to thank my Theatre Arts teacher, Mr. Mutch for making my graduating year incredibly enjoyable. He has taught me more in one semester than any English or Math teacher has in 17 years. The things that he has taught me are things that we all tend to lose sight of as we grow older. Such as, to always enjoy the little things in life and to work your hardest and never lose sight of your goal. Mr.Mutch makes us do this every class when we dance and sing together and it's amazing to see how he brings our class closer and pushes us to be the best that we can be. He motivates me to work as hard as I can and to encourage others around me. He has also taught me how to manage my time and not to procrastinate, these are all things that will help me in the future and I cannot thank Mr.Mutch enough for what he has taught me.
