I'd like to say thanks to my Enriched Math teacher, Mr. Freeman (Dennis). Even though he retired in my third year of high school, he certainly did teach a lot. With his teaching, everything in math seemed easier to remember; in fact, my grade 11 and 12 functions marks are this high thanks to him (98%! Yay!) I've really taken a liking to math these past couple years. Thanks to these grades, they've really helped pull my admission average up! Thanks so much Mr. Freeman!

I would like to thank Mrs. Agnew, for helping me through three semesters of high school Chemistry. She has added interest to the subject, with her engaging humour, and pushes and inspires all her students to achieve. Though I may not have been the best student at times, she has never given up on me once. Through her guidance, I have learned the virtues of patience, punctuality, and diligence, all of which are necessary to succeed. Thanks to her, I have come to love Chemistry, and will begin undergraduate studies in the field of science in September. Thank you for all your support Mrs.Agnew!

I would like to give a thanks to Mr. Cutajar who taught me in custom woodworking.

Mr. Cutajar taught me how to look at the bigger picture while still focusing on the small

details enough to make masterful furniture and jewelery boxes. He also taught me that if

you screw up on something it can always be fixed, you just need to find a creative way to

do it.

THANK YOU COOTS, YOU WERE AN AWESOME TEACHER!

I'm sure I can speak for everyone at my highschool when I say that Mrs Cox is one of the best English teachers ever!
She made my first year of high school better than I've ever expected and taught me to grow as both an individual and a writer. She made learning fun and made sure each student had an equal opportunity. Her enthusiasm made going to class fun even though it was at nine in the morning.

So thank you Mrs Cox ! cheers
and I'm so glad to have been taught by you !

I would like to thank Ms. Wilson at Maple High school. For all the things she has helped me and taught me important skills that are essential to any field. Music is a big part of my high school experience, even though I am not planning to enter the field, being in music taught me to be a better student and leader. THANK YOU!

To Mrs. Boucher,

Without the help of this wonderful teacher many things would have gone unanswered for me. She taught not only our English or our understanding of books. She also taught us how we as people are all alike and deserve the better treatment. Things that are hard to comprehend became simple like blinking and plain as day. Teaching us how to look beyond just the word and find the meaning of a word but also to look and find the reason why this can mean so much to us. She always ensured to encourage my writing as she said I had that talent but truly I never believed until she had said so. After she had done that I noticed how I could use my writing to make an impact on the world around me, even if it be little. She spoke of how as people even making a difference in one persons life is the greatest thing if you know how to appreciate it. Things even as simple as butterflies would spark in depth conversations that would lead to a resolution that would leave me wondering and trying to apply it to my own life. Not only does she teach the words of a book, but she teaches the meaning of a life plain and simple. Without these life lessons, philosophical talks or just flat out witty word-play scenarios. I never really realized how much life had to offer and how important it is to have all that we have and to not complain about it. Once again, it's not just the fact she has taught me to develop a skill I had along with my fellow classmates. But she has taught life lessons one can carry with him where ever he goes and not question if it is right or wrong. I would like to thank Mrs. Boucher for all her hard work and I have appreciated what she has done for the past three years of teaching me. If given the chance I would let you meet and have a chat with her. Everyone deserves to have someone like this in their lives, perhaps they are that someone and for that I thank them as well. She may be an English teacher on the cover, but the chapters of her life are like no other. I could go on for days about the three years she has taught our English classes. But to sum it all up, all I have to say is thank you. Because I don't think I can say it any other way that would have the same meaning. Thanks teach, this one's to you.

I would like to thank Mr. Daly my grade 12 functions teacher. He truly taught me more than simply math, but about life in general. I would consider him the inspiration for me going into math related post-secondary studies. Sir, I truly enjoyed your teaching style, and especially how you always posted the notes from class on FirstClass.

Thanks again Mr. Daly I really appreciate all you've done!!! :D

Mr Wong was one of the greatest teachers you could ask for. He helped me to realize all the skills I posses. He was able to also refer me to a job where I excelled at.

Dear Mr. Gillingham,

Thank you for everything you did for us, it was a pleasure to have homeroom grade 11 physics with you! Honestly, University Physics at 8.20am, sounded very scary at first; especially how we were learning over 50 equations for 5 months. However, you made it fun! Mr. Gillingham, you were such an amazing teacher and through the games, experiments and those “chill out days”, we all got the job remarkably done. I believe you were a very phenomenal teacher because you were always there for us. You were there for any student before/after school to help the few of us stuck on those kinematic equations. Even, made games to get us all involve into those boring topics. Sir, you taught me so much; much more then the laws of Newton and friction. In those few months, you taught me that whenever I didn’t understand something, no matter how independent I would like to be, it is okay to ask for help. You taught me, that we learn the most from each other, and so we can never give up on ourselves or our friends.

It was an amazing time with you, thank you for the life lessons, and surely, I will never give up. If its in a physics question, or for the search for a part-time job. I'll keep going at it.

Sincerely,

J. Alza

Ps. See you next year in Gr. 12 Chemistry cheers LET'S GO THUNDER!

I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to Ms. Bethell, my art teacher for the past four years.
She has taught and inspired me so much. I have developed not only artistically, but also intellectually, and maybe even a little bit spiritually, in that she inspired in me a deeper respect for the wonders of the universe. She believed in me at a point where I thought myself hopeless, and enabled me in so many ways to become the archetypal Sage I now see myself as.
Thank you, Bethell. <3

I want to give a big thank you to my geography teacher, Janice Bolzon.
She have given me advice and taught me lessons in which she learned from experience that will benefit me for years to come. I'm grateful for ever thing she have done for me and more. With out her I wouldn't have the motivation to have the grades I currently posses. She helped me finding my path when I was lost and shown me a level of kindness I have never witness before. She is an inspiration to be to become a kinder person and a great student. I'm truly grateful for everything she have done. A teacher that will be memorable to me for years to come.

I would like to send out a big 'THANK YOU!' to an amazing Design professor I have had the pleasure of mentoring me for two classes throughout my past three academic school years. As a Design Professor/ Former Associate Dean at OCAD University, Steve Quinlan has taught me to evolve my design vocabulary and learn about proper typography in ways I had never thought of prior to entering University.

He goes above and beyond to provide help and assistance for his students, and is very passionate about what he teaches. He is constantly helping me develop new and innovative ways to approach conceptual ideas and thinking outside the box. His direction and perspective helps tremendously with developing my personal design aesthetic.

I look forward to having him as my Thesis professor for my final year which begins in September. After completing my fourth year, I will have obtained my Undergraduate Degree and receive my Bachelor of Design (having majored in Graphic Design) with great achievement.

My First Class Educator would have to be my grade 9 and 12 Mathematics teacher, Sharon Langille. She taught me the basics of Math in grade 9, along with teamwork and problem-solving, then in grade 12 she taught me the fundamentals of Calculus as well as perserverance and in-depth thinking. I did a double co-operative placement in her grade 9 and grade 12 classes the next year, and that taught me patience and good teaching skills.

Mrs. Langille definitely helped me become the person I am today, and I am VERY glad that I got the chance to know her!

To the counselors of Western Technical School
I came into the counselors office distraught, and confused. I wanted to enroll for college, but had the day to day struggle of rent, bills, and groceries to pay for. As a young teen trying to make it in this world on their own, it’s not easy. The application fee seemed impossible to pay. I had this huge inching inside of me that wanted nothing more than to graduate and go to college but all the obstacles made it seem so difficult. All three counselors sat down with me, and said they would give me the gift of education that day. They explained to me the different financial aids I could apply for and receive, helped me fill out my application form, paid my application fee, and wished me good luck. I have been accepted into my first program and I couldn’t be more excited. I couldn’t have done it without their kindness and support !

THANK YOU SO MUCH WESTERN TECH. cheers

While I have had many fantastic professors at my current school, Wilfrid Laurier University, one teacher from high school stands out as having the greatest impact on me. Mr. Hayes (Cardinal Carter Catholic High School) taught my Film and Literature class in my final year of secondary school and inspired me to pursue a minor in English at Laurier. His passion, sense of humor, and insight into the films, novels, poems, and short stories assigned opened my eyes to an entirely new way of approaching media. He shared personal stories from his hippie days, read his own published poetry, and gave me a copy of T.S. Eliot's "The Waste Land." He thought up creative assignments, genuinely cared for students, and introduced my fellow classmates and I to Stratford, Ontario - somewhere I'd never been and one of our province's great cultural towns! His passion and belief in my abilities continues to inspire me; we are Facebook friends and he is still my go-to for summer reading recommendations! Mr. Hayes showed me just how much of an impact a great teacher can have.
