I think U of T looks down upon repeated courses, especially if it's in English when you're applying to a social science/humanities program. Your average should be high enough though because the satellite campuses should be slightly easier to gain entrance into compared to St. George. **Shields** Accepted: University of Toronto: Social Sciences + Vic One (Pearson Stream) Carleton University: Honours Science University of British Columbia: Arts

same, my application for UTSG social sciences has been deferred till late may! >< My overall average for UofT is 83%, and my english mark is only 73.. I talked to an admission advisor a while back and she told me that anyone wanting to go into social sciences or humanities at the main campus should aim to have at the minimum, an 80% in english 12.

That kills me. Even though we've worked so hard to maintain a decent/high average, above they're expected/requested average admissions, we still get penalize for English. Applied To:

The UTSC website says: "While the University of Toronto recognizes that there may be valid reasons for a student to repeat a course, in general we urge students do as well as possible on their first attempt. In considering students for admission and scholarships, the University reserves the right to give preference to students whose marks are the result of a single attempt at each course." But I repeated English (76 the first time, 93 the second time) and I was accepted to Victoria College in March with an overall average of ~84, so who knows?

I use to get 70's, 80's and 90's effortlessly in English until grade 12. T.T I'm sooo scared. Applied To:

I got in today with a 90 average (didn't retake any courses):
English 4U - 89 Calculus - 91 Biology 4U - 96 Chemistry - 88 SAP (Psych, Sociology, Anthro) - 89 Data - 87
However, it says Trinity college application is still pending although I got accepted to St. Mike's.
If I am forced into St. Mike's I'll probably just go to Queens. What residence did everyone get accepted to? Is it possible to get accepted to multiple residences?

LOL, I got 72 in ENG4U and look where I am now? You never know really, but my high school's english was pretty hard. The average was a low 50s, the highest mark was an 80 and only 6 people in class were in the 70s range. I also took a standardized english test (IELTS) when I applied to UofT and I aced it, maybe that was the reason why I got the admission? Anyway, wish you best of luck! UofT University College.
