It's less than a month away to officially pick your university!

I'm pretty sure I'm choosing University of Toronto Scarborough for Psychology B.Sc.

Before i was sooooooooooo sure I was going into Waterloo's Arts and Business Co-op, but that's too far away. I'm afraid I might regret that chance of co-op. Oh well, gotta take risks right??

What's your choiceeeee? Where are YOU going?

Not after they doubled it , and I decided to go and see for myself what this school is all about. Did so much research on all the other schools but nothing on this one, so I figured I owe it to myself. Luckily , I did !

I was dead set on Western myself but I've decided Journalism might be a bit more fun and useful so I accepted my offer to Carleton University. They're also giving me $12K which is a far better amount than the $2000 I'd get from Western.

Well it's spread out over the four years at the school as long as an A- (I think) average is maintained, So I'll get $3000 applied to my first year. Ottawa U and Carleton are the two schools I've mostly heard about giving this much money. I'm assuming it's because while they are both well known they are still smaller schools. Places like U of T and Western are HUGE and get tens of thousands of applicants each year so I guess it's because these schools are smaller they can use their funding for scholarships. I could be completely wrong but this is my main theory. It's like Nipissing, it's a tiny university and if you have over I think a 90% average your first year tuition is paid. I guess it's because their smaller and get less applicants.

I think I may go to Mcmaster Business after Waterloo screwed be over with their AFMAA acceptance :( I would have gotten their full acceptance now as my average is 88% BUT NOOO JUST CAUSE OF MY STUPID 67% IN GRADE 11 (CAUSE THEIR MINIMUM IS 70% MATH WHICH BTW I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THEY HAD A CUTOFF OFF FOR MATH THEY ONLY MAGICALLY REVEALED IT THIS YEAR THAT THEY WOULD HAVE A CUTOFF FOR MATH CAUSE IN PREVIOUS YEARS ITS ALWAYS BEEN ENGLISH. BESIDES THAT MY AVERAGE WITH MY MARKS THEY HAD SO FAR AT THAT POINT WAS WAY ABOVE THEIR AFMAA CUTOFF (CAUSE I ALREADY HAD A BUNCH OF GRADE 12 COURSES COMPLETED AND MY GRADE 11 OVERALL AVERAGE WAS 82 INCLUDING THE GR 11 MATH EVEN IN PREVIOUS YEARS I'D BE COMPETITIVE). AND NOW MY MID-TERM MATHS SHOW UP 73 CALC 83 ADVANCED FUNCTIONS WHICH IS ABOVE THEIR STUPID CUTOFF AND TO TOP THAT OFF A BUNCH OF PEOPLE DID NOT EVEN WRITE THE STOOPID AFMAA SO UKNOWAT GO EFF YOURSELF WATERLOO I'M GOING TO MCMASTER CAUSE THEY ARE NOT HEARTLESS.

Scholarship is over 4 years and you have to maintain a certain average to guarantee getting it in 2nd year but you still can get 50% of it if it drops to B , I think.
Unlike other Universities, Ottawa calculates for scholarship purposes English plus any top 5U/M courses. Ottawa is considered a large University but for whatever reason not many people go there; so I guess it's their way of hoping to attract more out of Ottawa people.

Western for nursing! It was a tough call, since I live close to Mac and get half off for the employee's child bursary, but in the end I wanted to go to Western. I've heard amazing things about the program there (my best friend LOVES it!)

September cannot come fast enough! SO EXCITED! elephant
