So I am planning to go into electrical enginnering field but I haven't made up my mind as to which university I should be in!!

So Farr I got accepted to.... UOIT electrical engineering, McMaster electrical engineering, Ryerson electrical engineering and Western engineering.

In my mind I wanted to go to UOIT but idk if it's the best decision for me...

Would you guys give some helpful comments to help me with my decision?

I have heard nothing good about Ryerson's engineering.

UOIT is really well funded, but has a pretty nasty stigma associated with it because it was only created to help house an oversaturation of graduating students (the year they disbanded OAC). I hear that it's OK for engineering, but still overshadowed.

Western has an OK engineering program, probably more "spirited" than the UOIT one, but also less funded. I would only go into engineering at Western if you had some deep desire to get a double degree with Ivey and have a business HBA in your pocket.

I would say Mac is the best engineering school out of the ones you listed. I believe they have a functioning co-op program and is definitely the best reputed for engineering. However, I do hear that engineering has the highest failure rate in that school and is pretty demanding.

All that being said, engineering is a professional degree. All of the examinations are standardized, and although the quality of your peers and your competitors will differ, you're learning very comparable material. If you really like UOIT more on a personal level, you should go there. The prevailing opinion on this forum would likely suggest Mac, though.

Yes, as long as your program is accredited so that you can actually become a professional engineer, 5 years out of school it really won't matter which university you went to.
