Hi everyone, im going into Kinesiology next year, and I've only done Grade 12 Advanced functions not Calculus. I haven't dont grade 12 Physics either. Im more of a 70-80 studen in math and Physics but a 90 Student when it comes to bio and chem, my main question is; having a weak background in Physics and Math will it affect my undergrad for Kin? Im going to York most probably.

Thanks Everyone! :)

I imagine that Kinesiology would have a lot to do with KINematics, a unit in physics. So yeah you might need to have a little background in it. It will make things much easier, physics is easy but takes a while to grasp.

I don't know too much about York's Kin program but based on what I've seen from other programs, there's a course called "Biomechanics" which will require some physics knowledge. In some universities, that is a mandatory course.
I'm pretty sure all BSc. Kin programs requires you to take a math course first year and if you haven't taken grade 12 calculus, you'll have to take an equivalent first year.
I would worry too much though because after first year, you'll be done with the math/physics courses if you don't want to take it anymore.

I didn't take grade 12 Physics either because I'm not too much of a Physics person. I do love math though.

Yes you need physics 1st year. You'll and my upper year friends tell me biomechanics use very basic 1st year physics. If you just attend class and do the homework and make sure you understand it, you shouldn't have an issue with it; regardless if you took it in highschool or not.

I know that in UW you take math in 2nd year 1st semester. After that we don't need another math except maybe stats.
