Does media and Hollywood "glam-up" the law profession? Is forensics the same as CSI? Is working as a lawyer the same as "Erin Brocovich"? Does media allow youth to build a false sense of understanding in regards to the law profession?

Without a doubt, yes. I think that most people have no clue what a lawyer does, in reality.

Not at all. Everyone with even an IQ of 60 should know the difference between movies and reality. Who would want to watch a movie with a lawyer doing hundreds of pages of paperwork? Likewise, who would honestly think a lawyer could just bark at the judge and act all high-and-mighty and get away with it? Some things are just done for entertainment, it doesn't mean people actually think that's how the profession works.

Your argument is invalid, otherwise you wouldn't see half of the people in a first year class in Law School give you the "Cuz i luv 2 argue" reason. People, DO YOUR RESEARCH before getting into Law School, don't end up like those TTTT Grads in U.S. who "followed their heart" and ended up ruining their lives, Law is obviously not for everyone and there's a lot of obstacles to go through if you want to succeed.

I do think law has been glamorized to a great extent in entertainment. Hop down to a public court and watch some cases- you'll notice that it can be tedious and very, very thorough. There is no crazy battle or loud yelling- just a lot of discussion and questioning.

There are probably some movies out there that are pretty realistic but remember that those movies are usually about American Law and we are in Canada. Unless you are planning to move to live in America. UTSC - Computer Science Coop 2016
