I am as my backup if I don't make it to med... How many optometry schools are in Canada? As far as I know, there's really only one, the University of Waterloo. That's pretty competitive then, almost as competitive as med :S So much for a backup eh?

Well, Waterloo is pretty good there are usually 300 applicants and the class is about 90 or 100. So you have a better chance at it than medical school which has 100 spots and 1000 applicants. Yes Waterloo is the only one in Ontario. There are a few in Canada but they all require residency in your own province and stupid guidelines. As for ethics and psychology, I think psychology is important. You are dealing with people so definitely understanding them a little and knowing how to deal with certain people would be beneficial. Ethics is involved in any medical profession. University of Guelph - BSc. Honours Biological Sciences and Neuroscience 2014 Biological Sciences Student Association - President

There is one in the university of Montreal but that is for french speakers. "they all require residency in your own province" Waterloo clearly states that the university (or what province) you come from don't influence decisions. Applying to [Fall 2012]:
University of Calgary (Biological Sciences , Health Sciences Status: Applied University of Alberta (General Sciences)
