I'm expecting to graduate with an 88% average (I'm on my victory lap, that's how I know) and I just want to know how I should proceed with the entire process. Is there some sort of stickied thread I can refer to? Kind of odd seeing how well known this site is for being awesome with scholarships.

So, I'm graduating with an 88% average and I'm applying to Schulich(don't really expect to make it in)Queen's Commerce, Desautels Commerce and Rotman Commerce. Does anyone know about the scholarship opportunities between each school? Since I have an extra year would anyone recommend accumulating volunteer hours?

Hey Jtwoshoes,

As far as scholarships for those universities go, you should just look on their websites. But other than that you should definitely be applying to all the scholarships you find out about. Even the small ones and the ones that require an essay - no one applies for those. Even a few small ones can accumulate to a bigger amount.

Over the course of my scholarship hunt, I've also found www.scholarshipscanada.com extremely helpful. The website often has more scholarships listed there than this website. Be sure to make an account there as well.

If you have a year off, definitely get yourself involved. The more you do, the better, if not for applications, then for yourself and your overall growth. Trust me, I've figured that out, it's never too late to get involved. Now, don't overflow your schedule with volunteering or work, take it easy. Make sure you do what you LIKE, not something for the hell of just "getting stuff" your resume. Doing things that are meaningful to you, help you in the future in applications and when you're networking because, you can explain yourself better and how you benefitted/made a difference in said experiences. Having three meaningful things on your resume that really affected you and through which you know you can communicate your skills and passion, is much better than have 7 things on your resume that you did just show that you're an all-rounder.

I hope that helps, good luck! :)
