If it can be used as a prerequisite, do they consider it? Do they treat it like any other courses?

It will be viewed as a regular summer school course. Some universities dock marks for summer courses while others do not.

Well, seeing that many people take English during the summer and getting accepted to many universities, I do not that is a big problem.
However, I have also heard from guidance that certain departments (UofT Engineering, Rotman) won't even look at summer school marks. I believe it also says on the UofT admission site that they have the right to hold preference for first-time and day school courses.
