What courses should I take at UofT St.George yr 1? I'm in the astronomy and astrophysics program, im most likely going to major, maybe minor in chemistry, not sure yet. I already got the courses I need, but theres not many, I'm at 2 creds for the year cause im on the waiting list for calc. Idk what else to add. A
Also I was pretty sure i put my second half-physics with the tut and everything, but for some reason when I logged in it wasn't there. So now I can't enroll for a tut because its full? What do I do about this. I need the tut for the physics class.
Courses im in so far: AST121H1 PHY151H1 PHY152H1 (CANNOT GET INTO TUT) PMU199H1
Been on waiting list for calc MAT137Y1
Please help I already did this late a few days ago, didn't know what else to fill up my schedule with but now im getting screwed!

You don't need Ast121, it's a joke course for non-scientists to fulfill a science breadth requirement.
You should take Mat223/224, also I recommend Mat157 over 137. If you can handle it (i.e. you're very smart), take 2nd year physics, esp. Phy252. You should take a computer science course.
The only courses you really need are calculus and Phy151/152, but you have to take linear algebra sooner or later. For the rest of your courses you can literally take whatever you want. You can either try to fulfill breadth requirements or take some courses similar to astronomy, for example chemistry, geosciences, biology etc.

What about the other first year ast courses? Mat223 was full, I guess I needa take it next year? Which comp scie course would you recommend? I signed up for a into to programming. Also signed up for a chem course. Problem is my schedule looks so bad with all these tuts and pras.

The astrophysics specialist program begins 2nd year with the Ast221/222 courses. Of course if you really wish to, you could take the first year astronomy courses but they're really intended for non-science students. You can take Mat223 in the spring if you wish, I heavily recommend taking it in first year.

AST 121H is designed for science and engineering students. AST101H is the non-science course designed to fulfill breadth requirements, though, as Xiohaha states, it is not a compulsory course for you. Might be helpful though to get some background before 2nd year AST courses.

Ok, thanks guys! What other courses are recommended as pretty much filler? My timetable is done but, I the courses I took all have tuts and pras that make my schedule so complicated. I took CSC108 and the chem138 course for example. What can I take thats good that wont give me a painful schedule.
