It depends on what stream you are going to. Being an arts/humanities streams students, in my grade 11 year when I was looking for an easy course, I chose history. It was incredibly easy, involved a bit of work, but nothing major. However, Grade 11 year is a good year to think about prerequisites for you grade 12 year. If you think you need have room for a random course, make sure you don't have any prerequisites. If you're all good, you could also consider taking a co-op, which is available in grade 11 and is a very good experience for everyone.
I would say that while parenting and food classes are 'bird courses' unless you are legitimately going into food sciences or planning on becoming a teen parent, they will not be extremely useful.
