Hey guys, I don't know if anyone asked this, but I'm gonna ask it anyways. How long after you submitted your MSFAA did it no longer show up as a document that you still need to submit on OSAP online. I submitted my MSFAA to Canada Post in SQ1 on May 29th, and OSAP still says I have to submit it. Same with my documents, I sent them via registered post on May 29th and it reached UFT on May31st, but it still says that I have to submit them. Do I submit them again? Thanks guys.

No idea. This is the first year they're using the MSFAA. I also submitted mine around the same time as you and I'm still showing it needs to be submitted as well.

Is there anyone else here who has the MSFAA no longer listed as a document they need to submit? I'm really worried, cuz it's been nearly a month.

Good day everyone,

So I registered on the OSAP website a few days ago.
The first time I clicked the register button, it did not pass because my challenge questions were bad.

I changed my challenge questions, but I had to fill in my SIN as well, and most everything else.

I still didn't pass, because they said I was not new to the website, i.e. I already registered.

So I went to the "Forgot your OAN?" internet request form, but they then said they could not find my information in the system.

So I went to Seneca College with my SIN card and a gov't issued photo ID to get my OAN and a temp password.

I got my OAN, and proceeded to fill out my application.

I did not notice anything abnormal until I got to the personal information page.

THE PERSONAL INFORMATION PAGE WAS PARTIALLY FILLED OUT.

I emailed the person about the situation, and received a reply...

I'm not sure what to do, considering I already submitted it (my parents did not want my submission to be late)

Also, the last 3 digits of my SIN as indicated in the app details portion match.

What should I do? Should I be gravely concerned?

Thanks for any help!

Hi,

I applied to OSAP weeks ago and sent all the required documents expect the MSFAA form.I won't be able to send the form until July 9, will this effect how fast I get OSAP in September? According to OSAP my application is being processed.

Thank you

So I was given a conditional offer for a waterloo entrance bursary that required me to apply to OSAP before june 15, and I did. Only I just realized that I submitted my MAFSA to the wrong place. I have submitted my online application and my signatures to the financial office @ waterloo. Is my bursary going to be revoked?

Hi!
I am out of Canada at the moment but will be arriving in Canada by mid July. Can I still apply for OSAP after I come to Canada, as it would be easier to submit the documents?
I am quite worried about this at the moment.
Thanks in advance.

I applied and submitted my application online. I still have to mail it to the required places. I was just wondering is there a deadline for this? If there is, what day is it?

You have until 90 days before the end of your study period (January), but obviously if you send them in at that time you wont be able to use it to pay your tuition in September.

My questions:

1. When it says report income from all sources, do we have to put in our parent's contributions, or is it taken into account based on your parents yearly income?

2. I assumed I would have to pay my residence fees in September, so when it asked for "Income received from all sources from Sept-Apr" I put in $3000 (As I expected to be able to use OSAP to pay for a portion of it). It turns out I have to make a $6000 non-deferable payment in August, before I get OSAP. On the form, I put that I would make $1000 over the summer (June-Sept). Now on the form, the $3000 for Sept-Apr will become $0 and the $1000 for June-Sept will become $7000. I am wondering how I would go about changing this and if it will cause a significant delay in receiving OSAP.

3. If I make more/less than my estimated amount during the summer, will I be given the chance to adjust it when I pick up my loan? If so, then can I just declare the $6000 then (So I dont delay my funding)?

Some things to note:

All the money used for the tuition/res fees are from my parents (Hence Question #1)
Even with the changes put into the Aid Estimator, my estimated amount does not change

Hi I would really love to get a respond and have peace of mind about this.
I applied at the beginning of May for OSAP for 2012/2013. Under Status it still says that "my application is being processed" and things to do: income verification. I know they are behind this year - I received an estimate... but I was wondering if ANYONE's OSAP APPLICATION has been PROCESSED :) So it doesn't say being processed, its actually processed and what school do you attend if it has?

Thanks sooo much!
Would love to hear back!

No, mine is still in INCOME VERIFICATION. Guess we're going to be waiting. The government sucks and their bureaucracy just makes us wait longer. It's all crap.

Hello,

I'm going to third year and decided to apply for OSAP.
I have 1 k in my checking account from personal income.
I have 90 k in my banks saving and investment account, this is not my own money, my parents put it there for grad school which is definitely going to cost over $100,000.

Would this cause me any problems in terms of getting OSAP? should I have it transferred back to my parents account?

Thanks

I don't know if this helps, but I got sick waiting for OSAP to update the staus. I wanted to know if the ball was rolling, so I checked eqifax.ca for soft credit inquiries. I had to pay $25, but I was able to see that OSAP has already done the credit check. The fact they haven't rejected me pretty much says I'm in the clear for the credit check. Now it's just income validation; I didn't lie on my income statement form, so now I just have to wait for the "approved" status. I'm finding that the college seems to be the bottleneck part.

Even moving it back is going to create an issue. They look at ALL financial situations of the parties involved. You're better off to use that money and invest the difference to generate back the funds used.

Great I am not alone in this status change update. If anybody's status changes to "you're application has been processed" and past the income verification stage please let me know! :)

I read posts above and saw that OSAP will determine how much you get for your loan based on your income. So what if I made 3k in that year, but my account only has 1k because I have used most of them. Will I get less loan because of the 3k I made or OSAP will base on the 1k I'm having?

It's a problem for all of us. Mine too went in over a month ago and the website says they still need it.
