So I am totally pumped for university! I know that there will be A LOT of parties, which I am excited for as well, but I am not much of a drinker. Maybe 1-3 drinks. Just wondering how much others drink or if you drink at all. Just a statistic I'm curious about :)

I don't do hangovers any more, and I don't feel any need to get wasted, so I usually limit myself to three drinks (not quite enough to keep me from driving). I knew a lot of people at Western who would get wasted every weekend, often twice or even three times, waking up hung over just as many times. I've never understood how people could do it. I don't have a lot of drinks because I'm not a fan of puking/hangovers/passing out and I'm a lightweight. I don't like being taken care of either so I never want to drink enough that I can't stand upright. Most nights I probably have 2, for special occasions (birthday, end of exams etc) I'll have more but I've never had more than 5-6. I've heard that at several American universities, EANABs (Equally Attractive Non-Alcoholic Beverages) are the norm or even required at on-campus parties where alcohol will be served. Does this tend to hold true at Canuck schools also? He saw the shadow of an average man attempting the exceptional, and ran.

I never puke or need help getting home, but am occasionally hung over and I think the amount I drink some nights technically qualifies as "binge drinking". Anywhere from 2-10 drinks depending on the night and length of time I'm out.
And to LaszloAlmasy, I'm not sure what would qualify as "equally attractive" but legally a party host should provide non-alcoholic beverages and food. And a lot of bars give pop out for free.

Anywhere from 1-6ish drinks. Have never gotten to the throwing up/passing out point and I intend for it to stay that way. There will be lots of people who don't drink much/at all so don't worry about it. University of Toronto (Trinity College) Honours Bachelor of Arts, Majors in English and Psychology, 2013ish

Er, i think three drinks legally keeps you from driving actually.

Er, i think three drinks legally keeps you from driving actually. Completely depends on the amount of time in which you drink the 3 drinks. If you chug them in 15 minutes and then drive, sure you will be over the legal limit. If you drink one per hour, you likely won't.

You know logically a bigger guy has more blood flowing so hence more alcohol needed to reach the legal limit

Im in 1st year, and I have to say I've drank more here than I ever did at home. I've been hungover a couple times, but I've never puked or done really stupid things - that's not my style. I'm a bit of a heavyweight, so it takes me usually 5-8 drinks to get me drunk. But I definitely don't need to drink to party, and I only go hard on special occasions (after an exam, Homecoming, etc.) at casual weekend parties I'll only have maybe 4 drinks the whole night.
