Hello Kate!

Hope you're doing well! Anyways, I was considering the possibility of another program at Western for my first 2 years instead of MIT which I applied for.

Would it be too late now to switch?

Thanks a lot!

Paul

EDIT

Just got my answer from the office of registrar! Added BMOS to choices but I understand my offer may be delayed.

Will this delay my Ivey offer at all?

Hey, I was wondering what you think my chances of getting accepted into ivey + biomed are
my grade 12 marks fell a lot after exams, and I now have an 88.5% ( for four courses)
These are my marks so far
Bio 91
Accounting 94
Economics 88
Advanced Functions 81

i have a 91 average if I don't include my advanced functions mark (my exam is what dropped me 5 percent), and I'm hoping i do better in calculus, which means that my advanced functions wont be counted in my top 6
Im hoping to pull my average back up to a 90 after midterms of sem 2
but im really worried!!!

I wrote ENG4UAP instead of just ENG4U), and in "highest level achieved" for my high school instead of grade 12 I put "AP". So will the Ivey people be able to see I took these 3 APs (thus making the fact that they consumed much of my social life this year worthwhile), or do they just get a collective average from Western?

Also, are the first round March offers only for people who are in semestered schools and have a set of courses complete, or is there a chance that people from non-semestered with high February grades in full year courses will get offers too (assuming that ECs are good)?

While Western Admissions does calculate grade averages and send them to Ivey, we will be able to see that you completed AP courses.

The majority of March offers go to students who have already completed 6 grade 12 credits; in most cases, although not all, these students are semestered.

Dear Kate, I don't think I understand your reply. How does one have 6 courses completed by March 2012, even for semestered schools, students can only take 4 courses per semester. So if a semestered student took 2 credit courses in grade 11 or summer school, he/she would complete his/her 6 courses, but for non-semestered students, there isn't a chance for them to complete 6 courses by March, right?

Hi Kate, I know that Richard Ivey offers scholarships based on the strength of an applicant's AEO application (grades, ECs, awards, etc). I was wondering if Richard Ivey offers scholarships at any other time in the program (ie third year, entering HBA 1) because I don't think my application is terribly strong and a little extra financial cushion would be nice to cover the costs of the program.

Hi Kate, I plan on applying for a dual degree in Integrated Engineering and Management and I have a few questions regarding a dual degree program at Western.

1)How competitive, in terms of admission, are combined programs, and how many students are admitted each year?
2)Are there any requirements other than achieving a weighted average of 78% in each year?
3)What is the course load like for the Integrated Engineering and Management program in years 4 and 5?

Hi 12345happyface,

Keep in mind that grades are only half of what we look at in the admissions process. The other half is based on your supplementary application. If you were able to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills through your supplementary application, than that can compensate for grades that are slightly below 90%. 90% is a competitive range, it is not a cut-off.

Cheers,
Kate

The majority of financial aid opportunities from Ivey become available when you enter the HBA Program in third year. You will fill out a Financial Aid application when you submit an Intent to Register with Ivey for your third year. For more information, check out: http://www.ivey.uwo.ca/h...saries-loans/index.htm.

1. Engineering is one of our most popular dual degrees. There is no cap on the number of students who can be enrolled. The number of students is based on the interest each year.

2. You need to be following the program with which you wish to do a dual degree for your first two years and achieve a 78%. You will also need to achieve a 78% in your HBA1 year.

3. The HBA is a challenging program and engineering is a challenging program. Accordingly, completing a dual degree will be challenging; however, it is manageable. An academic counselor will work with you to make sure that your 4th and 5th years are arranged in such a way that you will be successful.

Hello,

I was just wondering, for students who chose to apply from another university to Ivey, if our grade 12 marks are considered alongside our GPA. Sorry if this question has been already asked.
Chosen:
University of Toronto (SC) Neurosciences

Right now are the admission averages Ivey is receiving consists on only grade 12 1st semester and any completed grade 12 course ?

Since more than half of the offers are sent out at the end of March for Ivey while the next round of offers for western is after midterms, would that affect my chances of getting aeo status if i get accepted after midterms ?

Hey,

If I switch the contact information of two of my references right now will it impact my chances of getting the early acceptance at the end of March?

I believe it was stated somewhere that their first round of offers are generally for students with several 4U/M courses completed by the February submissions. It shouldn't matter when you are offered AEO status, later offers just tend to be made to compile a greater understanding of their applicants before offering admission.

I have AEO status and applied to HBA for this coming September. I know that I have to maintain a 80% average between YR1&YR2, and a 70% in BUS2257. I feel like the 80% average is a lenient number, and have heard people get accepted with below 80's. How lenient is the business mark? Say I got a 68% in BUS2257 and an 82% average, with really good extracurriculars. Would i still be considered for admission?
