Imagine the book 1984 where everyone is dressed in grey, paranoid and don't speak to each other. And on top of that everyone's freaking out about marks all the time.

That.

40% international students
25% asian
15% brown
15% homosexual
5% white

As a second year UC student returning to res, I think I can help you.

The social scene is tight-knit with many fun inter-house and intra-house events happening throughout the year. It really is a great social place if you're into that.

The demographics are roughly as follows in res:

50% asian
35% white
10% brown
5% black

This changes year to year though.

Overall it is a great college!

If you are a sociable person, you will be fine. The demographics does not mean anything really unless you don't like socializing with certain types of people.
But if you realllly want to know(oh, and it's pretty much the same in every colleges cuz this is UofT):
40% asian(chinese,korean,japanese, vietnamese)
30% white
25% brown (most of them live in morrison/commute)
5% black

UC is not that tight-knitted compared to Trinity or Innis, but overall we have pretty good spirit, especially frosh ;). Hopefully you are going to the UC frosh this year, I might see you there beacause I'm one of the frosh leaders ahha.

YES! Thanks guys for your insight. I didn't expect two people to reply with actual experience, since most people on this forum hate UofT for some reason. Anyways as long as it is social and fun, I am happy.

What the party scene? I don't care if it is not like Western's, but how often are they?

Large parties generally happen every two or three weeks, with smaller ones in between (at least in Whitney).

Also, I hope that you are doing Frosh because it really is one of the best experiences of first year (which is why im doing it again as a leader lol).
