I know a girl who got accepted yesterday after being waitlisted so my fingers are crossed for all of you who were waitlisted!

I just got a placement at University of Victoria (though wasn't in my top 3)! I was waitlisted at first but I got the notice today.

No worries everyone, emails are still going out!

Did you just get an email? Or was your status on the website changed too?

Still waitlisted too. I'm beginning to lose hope...hasn't it been 10 business days since the draw, so then anyone who didn't want it already rejected it?

@journalimgirl Don't lose hope yet! Some people that might have "accepted" have 14 business days to complete and submit the required paperwork package that they were e-mailed. If they don't then they will draw more people!

Oh and for those who are debating to get plane tickets, I'm sure it's best if you get them now, while they have a Canadian wide seat sale @ Westjet!

Unless you're within province, I absolutely advise against taking VIA rail. The ride is just a miserable and long experience. The seating is terrible and foot room is about as accommodating as a cramped bathroom stall. Your back and your legs WILL be killing you by the end of the trip. It took my under 24 hours to travel from Halifax to Ottawa on the train. The price might make it look like its worth looking at, but seriously, just shell out the extra money for a plane ticket. It's just not worth the trouble.

Anybody else going to Université de la Saskatchewan at Saskatoon? bounce
If anyone went there before, I'd like to hear what you think too!

I'm not sure how the program here at the uofs is, but I live just outside of Saskatoon and will be attending regular classes there in September. I'm thinking of applying to the Explore program here for next year cuz its during the spring session. If you remember, pm me and let me know how it goes! I'm not sure if you've looked at the optional activities they offer, or where you are from, but I would try and go to Banff for the weekend, sure its in Alberta, but its amazing there! Good luck!

oh, and if anyone is wondering, I went to Jonquiere last summer, and it was quite fun, I learned a lot of french and really enjoyed my host family and the area. If someone has questions about my experience there, pm me as well! :)

Got into UVic from waitlist a few days ago!! cheers Any UVic buddies?
I think the key is to wait patiently, I remember seeing a post from last year that a girl was notified with her acceptance a week before the camp session. I was actually preparing for that, didn't expect to hear from them now. :P

I just found out today that I got into Chicoutimi for Spring .. I really want to go, but I don't speak french at ALL.. I took core french in elementary and a high school class but I don't remember any. Anyone know if that will be a big issue for me since it has to most native French speakers in Canada per capita? I have to live with a host family as well. I just don't want to get there and be the only one who speaks none.

you just got off the waitlist today? hey congrats! :) I doubt you would be the only one going in without any French knowledge at all, plus they group you in classes according to a placement test! It will be tough at first for sure, but I would view it as a really good experience to learn and improve your French really fast. chicoutimi spring was on my top 3 and I'm still waitlisted so if all goes well maybe I'll see you there :D
