How Do I ... know whether I'm a visual or auditory learner?

By Studentawards

The following tip, originally posted at the Studentawards Forum, was contributed by a student in our membership.

All in all, it depends on the type of learner you are. That is, are you a visual learner? Auditory? Tactile/Kinesthetic? You may have approached tests in high school asking you what kind of learner you were so you probably already know it. However, if you don't, I suggest visiting http://people.usd.edu/~bwjames/tut/learning-style/, which provides a test that you can do to determine your specific learning style. Once you have figured that out, go online and search up "auditory learner tips" or a similar search based on your particular learning style. Browsing among the results, you will eventually find the site that explains particular tips for studying. I hope this helps you so that when you have difficulty studying based on the traditional ways such as making cue cards and visual diagrams, you can see what creative and unique ways of studying there are for you out there based on your particular learning style.
