Our Mission
Established in 1998, studentawards.com is a free scholarship matching service, devoted to helping Canadian high school, college and university students by providing information about scholarships, bursaries, grants, fellowships and other forms of financial assistance.
Our powerful search engine matches members with scholarships, bursaries and cash prizes, delivering customized lists of awards based on profile information that members provide when they register at the site. Our up to date, national and bilingual database contains over $70 million in available awards, including hard-to-find and institutional prizes. Only 54% of the scholarships in our database are merit-based.
Assisting Canadian students with financial aid has enhanced our understanding of their additional information needs, and we strive to equip them for success before, during and after their post-secondary education. In addition to information about scholarships and financial assistance, we provide our members with content and tools relating to all aspects of student life. Membership benefits include involvement in the popular online studentawards.com forum and access to hundreds of relevant articles, newsletters, blogs, tweets and videos from some of Canada’s top academics.

How We Keep Membership Free
When members register, they are asked to provide some personal information (e.g. name, email address, postal code, birth date, gender, interests, etc.), which is used for:
- providing members with a personalized list of scholarships, bursaries and awards from the studentawards.com scholarship database;
- informing members about opportunities to obtain awards;
- notifying members of new awards that have been added to our scholarship database;
- providing members with email notification of online surveys, and matching members with relevant surveys.
Studentawards.com periodically provides opportunities for our business partners to engage our members through studentawards.com using a variety of our digital assets. Business partners include universities, colleges, scholarship providers, financial institutions, and other corporations. Studentawards.com is able to offer free services to its members based, in part, on their willingness to be reached by our business partners. Members can choose to grant this permission during the registration process when they join studentawards.com.
No personal information is EVER released by studentawards.com to our advertisers or business partners. Members who do not wish to receive emails or other secondary correspondence from studentawards.com or its partners may opt out of these communications at any time. Our research studies report only aggregate information, and never disclose individual personal data or allow the ability to ascertain information about individuals.
We are deeply committed to our members’ privacy rights, and we operate in complete compliance with all privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”).
