I want to say "Thank You" to my academic advisor, Sandra Robinson (Concorida University).

This is my 4th semester at CU, and my first 3 semesters weren't great (grade-wise). My 4th semester (January 2012-April 2012), has been my best yet, thanks to Sandra!

Sandra taught me, that with hard work anything is possible. She said, "It takes a lot of blood, sweat, and tears" to complete a degree, but once it is done, it is worth the effort". This semester, I had to obtain a C+ in every course. As of right now, I have received 2 B- marks in Nutrition and Brain and Development.

Thank you Sandra for all your help!!

Thank you to Ms. Patricia Reid, my politics and history teacher at Clarington Central Secondary School. She also makes class fun and enjoyable and I have definitely learned a lot. Ms. Reid takes time to help us study and get prepared for AP Exams and is always willing to help with and discuss assignments. She is never afraid to laugh at herself or tell the truth. I will miss her classes once I start university and I grateful and thankful for all she has done.

My absolute favourite teacher deserves a huge thank you. Mr. David Page, at Assumption College School. He was my science teacher in grade 9 and very well may be a big part of the reason I fell in love with the sciences. I had him again for grade 11 & 12 physics. When times got hard he was always helpful & understanding. I kind of thought I was his favourite student but then I saw how he helps every student and really makes everyone feel like they're his favourite. He always sets time apart for anyone who needs help. He really loves the subject he teaches and his enthusiasm spreads to every student. I would go to his class just for fun if I wasn't a part of it because he makes everything fun to learn about.
Thank you Mr. Page for really teaching everyone how much fun science is.

I'd like to begin by thanking my grade 6 teacher at Sherwood Elementary School in Charlottetown, Pei, Mr. John Mackinnon. Although I look back 8 years and don't remember the day to day lessons he taught me, I can remember the life lessons that will be forever etched in my mind. This was my first full school year after being diagnosed with diabetes, and Mr. Mackinnon made the transition in the classroom as easy as can be. Mr. Mackinnon's approach to teaching was to involve the students, and with this method, the students were really also learning from the students. One lesson I remember most was Mr. Mackinnon telling me to be like a birds feathers. After confusedly asking him why, he responded "A birds feathers have natural oil and repel all things that may come in contact with them, much like how we should shed all the hurtful things people may say to us." Thanks Mr. Mackinnon for everything you've taught me.

I want to say thank you to Mr. Scott at the Virtual Learning Centre. He doesn't just teach he inspires. I never thought I could enjoy Canadian Studies. I've learned that hard work pays off and that learning can be fun. I will miss taking his classes next year, the many trivia tidbits and the JOTD (Joke of the Day)! He truly wanted to see all his students grow and succeed.
Thank you for inspiring and motivating me in my educational pursuits, I will never forget the valuable lessons I have learned in your classes!

I would like to say thank you to my dual credit teacher Kelly Pilgram.

She always pushed me to do better and when i took a class i didnt like she pushed me and helped me through the entire semester. I wouldnt have passed the class without her.

Having her as my dual credit teacher was so good because she was way more then a teacher. She helped me look for awards so i could go to college in the fall and she was someone i could always talk to if i needed to.

Thank you so much Kelly for all your help and advice!

I want to say thank you to all the guidance councilors at St. Jean de Brebeuf for helping me choose my courses and career path. They opened my eyes to all the new possibilities. I want to especially thank Mrs. Alfano because she was very patient with me and was always giving me great solutions. She taught me how to manage my course selections and showed me the process of applying to college.

Thanks a lot Mrs. Alfano!

I would like to say a huge thank you to Mr.Alonzi that teaches at St. Edmund Campion. He is such an awesome teacher, he really cares about his students and not only that but he is a religion teacher and he teaches to his students about life and the things we should appreciate, without being old fashioned and reading what's printed in a textbook. He's like a father-figure to many and his wisdom and philosphy of life is amazing and inspirational. He's helped me and many students to see the reality of the real world and how we should always stay true to ourselves. Once again, I would like to say thank you Mr. Alonzi for being the best you.

I would like to say thank you to my 4U Biology teacher, Ms. Caruana.

She always encouraged me to think and learn beyond the class material, taking time after class to look up any questions I had. She made the course clear and fun. By far the best course I took in high school!

To Mr. Jim McPhail,

I want to sincerely thank you for being my grade 8 teacher at WJ Watson Public School. You were not only an incredible and outstanding educator you were my leader, my role model and especially my friend.

Each morning when I woke up to go to school, I was excited and I was eager. I could not wait to be back in your classroom to discover what our class was going to learn that day. You brought such excitement to the classroom, even to the boring topics of math; especially algebra. When I was struggling to understand a concept you were there, helping me figure it out. You were always available before school, after school or at recess to further support students who needed extra help, especially myself. You never said no to help a student.

I had known since I was a Kindergarten student that I would want to become an educator, however, until I met you I did not know I wanted to become a Physical Education teacher. Every physical education class we had was different and exciting. You taught us many new ways to play games and how to put variations on some of the boring activities. You even went above and beyond and taught us extra topics such as ballroom dancing. I will never forget you showing us the fancy foot work in the gymnasium.
With every class you taught, you brought a smile to my face and raised the bar on my dream of becoming a physical education teacher. You taught me to strive for the best and never give up and especially to never stop trying.

Saying thank you, is simply not enough. You have made me a better person, a better student and a better future educator.

Don’t ever give up teaching and inspiring others Mr. McPhail.

Sincerely,
Meaghan

I would like to say thank you to my teacher and friend Miss Elaine Vanderwerf (from Peoples Christian Academy). You taught me what it was to be a student and most of all what it was to be a writer. You truly have been an inspiration and a blessing to me and I cannot thank you enough. You are definitely a first class teacher. You may no longer teaching at a school, you continue to make a difference and I am still learning from you. I am sure that wherever you are you will find a way to make a difference.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of my instructors at the College of The North Atlantic. They have taught me thus far that with hard work comes great things, you only get out of something what you put into it, and also that nothing worth having comes easy! I would also like to thank them for all the time and effort they have given thus far, and I'm sure they will continue to do so in the upcoming school year. Without their help and guidance I would not be where I am today so again, Thank You so much!

Mrs. Mary-Claire Nepotiuk, my high school art teacher; provided me with the encouragement, support, inspiration, and so much more throughout my 4 supremely important years of growing. She recommended me my first ever scholarship at a local art school, which then lead to my first job as a teacher of six to twelve year-old children's pottery. She is happily retired now and she completely deserves all the best in the world. The one thing that I was most grateful for had nothing to do with education, but in the way she emboldened me, a very introverted person, to really reach out to the community and get to know people and let them get to know me. I enjoyed co-oping with not only, my educator and guiding light but with another artist to which I could look up to and be influenced by at such a young age.
So I have to say that I have so much gratitude towards her for helping me learn how to drive my education and social train and inspiring me to follow my passion in the visual art world and make it into OCAD U. No matter how rough it will get I'll always have you in the back of my mind cheering me on, and so, Ta Mary-Claire, keep on being the colourful person you are! colors

Who: Giovanna Ferrara, TA, York University
What they taught me: Humanities 1840 – Existence, Freedom and Meaning, that even in a University there are people who care to treat students as important, and to look at life critically.
How they helped me find my way: Helped me write better essays, always remembered me and was always available for extra help (for the subject and outside school), and find new purpose in life by being there and helping me analyze.

THANK YOU for all your hard work Giovanna!
