So I got accepted to York for Social Work and I'm still waiting for Ryerson's offer. But if I get accepted to Ryerson, I wouldn't really know where to go. I heard York has a better program but the courses sound so... boring... But then Ryerson's courses sound really interesting but it's in downtown and I hate downtown. I really don't know which one to choose, so I'd like other people's opinion on the matter? Which do you prefer, Ryerson or York, and why?

I applied for York and Ryerson's Social Work Programs and I got accepted into York but I haven't heard from Ryerson. Moreover, I heard that Ryerson's Social Work accepts 200 people but is it possible that it's a competitive program like York's Social Work Program?

What was your average if you don't mind me asking? Because I still haven't heard from York or Ryerson. I have an overall average of 75%. Thank you.

York! I accepted York's offer and I also got into Ryerson's social work program. It took me a while to make my decision, but I will tell you why I accepted York. Firstly York has way more social work courses than Ryerson, so second and third year will have many options. Secondly, I like how York is really big, it gives me the ability to meet a wide range of people and make connections later in life. Every single year York holds a fair where you get to meet social workers from a wide range of social service agencies. Thridly, Ryerson accepts around 200 for their first year, York only accepts about 80! York's program is way older than Ryersons's so it's more prestigious. And I have an 82 average currently, I got accepted based on my grade 11 average which was an 82.

I talked to my guidance counselor the other day and she said that Ryerson is behind schedule. And I heard that York accepts less people than Ryerson so the behind-schedule thing could be the reason that we haven't heard from Ryerson yet?

No not at all. York actually gave me an alternative offer first, before the marks were submitted for April (79%). Afterwards my average was an exact 80% when I got accepted.

Awesome! That was really helpful, thank you! I guess I'll be seeing you at York, haha. Yeah, I heard the same about the number of people they accept. So was that an early acceptance from Ryerson? My grade 11 average actually wasn't very high, a 72%, so I wasn't surprised that I didn't hear from any university until April. :P

I applied to the social work programs at a few universities and I was wondering how you guys like the program and if it's a good career to get into? I'm a grade 12 student and I want to know what to expect from university :)
