Top Websites for Spanish Students

By Mercedes Rowinsky-Geurts PhD

If you are learning Spanish, some of the most important websites are going to be:

http://buscon.rae.es/draeI/

http://translation2.paralink.com/

http://www.ver-taal.com/gramatica.htm

These sites will help students to access important information while learning Spanish. The first link for example, is the dictionary of the Royal Academy of the Language and you have it at your fingertips. This is a luxury students who have studied in the past didn't have. This tool is a privilege and it should be used recognizing that by not consulting it will imply that you, as a learner, have opted not to search for the correct spelling/meaning of a word. As a responsible student, making the best use of the available tools in the internet shows your interest in the subject matter and your maturity and sense of independence as a young scholar.

Learning a language always implies that you will encounter translation exercises. The second link will offer you an approximation to the possible translation of words in many languages. Remember that translation doesn't need to be literal. Sometimes expressions, sayings and or proverbs can't be translated word by word. More reserach on your part is needed to achieve the best result.

Finally, the last link is an exciting link to grammatical explanations, videos, exercises and lots of fun and challenging activities that you may incorporate to review for quizzes and/or tests. Have fun while doing from the comfort of your own home!
