I am applying to engineering, however, I know I will have regret for not considering this option because I have always been keen on computers and technology. As for engineering I am applying to electrical/computer/ mechanical. Haven't decided yet. But back to the topic: What kind of degree is needed to get into this career, and How is the future in this industry?

What career? You don't mention a career other than wanting to work with computers and technology. An electrical or computer specialization will be your best bet for that.

All these three courses are the best for making bright future. But as per my point of view Computer engineering is the best option to choose as a career option. In these days computer field is growing very fast and there are many job opportunities in this field.
