I got an email today saying that I got accepted to Queen's Commerce!
YAY

then it said that if I check SOLUS there will be information on whether I got
scholarships or not...

Under Admissions tab, it had the offer of admission and

The following scholarships / awards / bursaries are available to you ONLY if you choose to accept the Queen's Offer of Admission to the program immediately above.
Scholarship / Award / Bursary Name Annual Value Duration (Years) Total Value
Chancellor's Scholarship $9,000.00 4 $36,000.00

I think that means I won it, but I'm just getting really paranoid and want to make sure that is true because I don't want to find out I didn't get it after all later and die from disappointment.
Applied:

Queen's Commerce (accepted)
U of T Rotman (waiting)
Western Social Sciences + AEO Ivey (waiting)
McGill Desautels (waiting)
UBC (waiting)

Wow I can't believe the number of winners that there are on here. There's a reception next September for major award winners so we'll have a chance to meet each other then. Are you all thinking of accepting Queen's?

Congrats and don't worry I got the same message
It's kind of vague but it does mean you won

my application status still says in progress and I called to ask them but they wouldn't pick up.. I really hope I win even though everyone else on this forum seems to be more qualified than I am. :(

Wow! It's great that so many of us won. Are any of you from Ottawa highschools perchance??
I'm still not 100% sure about Queen's because it will still be very expensive for me, a lot more than U of O. But now at least Queen's is a possibility!

And does anyone know if there are other scholarships available?

For those that haven't been contacted by Queen's yet, you lost. I lost too. However we can still hope for acceptance.

Are you sure about that? Like was it confirmed by calling Queen's or something? I ask because someone posted on the Queen's University facebook page asking whether or not other major scholarship winners (Sobey's, Chernoff, etc.) would be notified this week, or just chancellor's. The Queen's rep said:

"All Major Entrance Scholarship recipients will be notified by February 3. Many of the decisions are already posted on SOLUS. Go check it out! Best of luck."

The "many of the decisions" part kind of makes me think that there may still be more to come. But I could be wrong haha.

im just thinking from this perspective; in about 5-6 hours it will be feb.3 and im assuming that "by feb.3" means before feb.3 It would make sense that Queen's does not make last minute decisions, but i could be wrong.

I'm super surprised to have been selected for this scholarship! I didn't receive my scholarship acceptance (via SOLUS) until late this morning. So just out of curiosity--those of you who knew you were awarded the Chancellor's last night...do you folks live in Ontario?

Just curious is all compress

Congrats to all who won and good luck to those awaiting!

I won too!!!!! I was super worried because I didn't hear yesterday when all of you did... but I checked today and it was updated! ANYWAYS congrats to all, hope to see you at the reception in the fall! And for those of you who didn't get it, I'm sure you will hear about acceptances VERY soon so don't be disheartened, and I hope it doesn't affect your view on Queen's!

Pretty sure I've been rejected, since I live in Ontario AND my account hasn't been updated yet. I'm less upset than I thought I would be actually, possibly because I wasn't really set on Queen's to begin with. Also, I've been selected for a live audition at Juilliard, so there's still hope for me!! Congrats to all the Queen's award winners and good luck to everyone!

I know-- where was the love?? At least it made getting it today THAT much more exciting haha since I thought I hadn't received it. and it shows for all of you next year who will freak out like me, getting it early doesn't mean you're no longer being considered! funny how when you hear completely depends on where you live.... but oh well, even if the process is stressful at least it pays off!

How is everyone feeling about accepting their offers? I know I'm for sure going to be going to Queen's now. I was really debating between Queen's and Western but it's nice now... sort of like the decision has already been made for me compress
