In your opinion, is Rotman one of the top-tier business schools in Canada?

no.

Personally:

Top Tier: Ivey, Queens, Schulich (in no particular order)
Second: Sauder~, Laurier, Rotman*, Desautels*,Waterloo BAFM?? (a bit too specialized..)

*I don't even think these two should be in here, because I think it's more school reputation that makes these sought after than actual good business programs. But good students do go here, and competetive admission avg means they do have good student potential to work with.

~not in the category with the above two, because here I think the program is actually good

just my two cents- no one spaz :P

i dont get why you're in the rotman thread if you didnt even apply...
queen's commerce - accepted
u of t st. george rotman commerce, victoria college - accepted
waterloo AFM CA co op - accepted
leaning towards rotman right now.. but that changes about 3 times a day
how am i ever going to make a decision?

I got early acceptance last week with 4 completed courses and a 92.25 average. Not sure how that happened, I heard they don't even look at the PSE? Some of my friends have 95+ and haven't been accepted yet.

For the people who got accepted, did your references get contacted by Rotman Admissions? Do you know what they asked your references?

I was IB diploma. I had around 41-42/45 predicted. U of Toronto loves IB kids, so given that you have decent grades, u shud be fine, i guess

I first sent in a 35/42 predicted, and now I recently sent in updated grades of 38/45. What do you reckon about my chances? My ECs are pretty top cause of CAS and I reckon my Personal Statement was solid.

Btw are u applying for Fall 2012 entry? Or are you already at uni? If so, where?

Thanks

38/45 shud be more than enough. Rotman wudnt even know ur ECs, unless u listed them all out on ur personal profile. I personally focused on one EC and expanded on it for my statement.

I am applying for Fall 2012 entry (sorry, i accidentally said: I "was" an IB diploma student, when I am actually still currently an IB grade 12 diploma student.)

What makes you say 38/45 will be enough? Do you know anyone that got in with those grades?

But yeah you make a good point, Rotman have no way of knowing, I got confused with Schulich :P I focused on one EC and expanded on it for my statement as well.

haha so maybe I'll see you at Rotman! IB survivors ehh ;)

Rotman is unique, full of fob international students and approximately half get kicked out moving from 1st year to 2nd year. You need to have a 67% minimum in ECO100Y1 where the class average for the final is 67% (assuming here that median percentage is close to average).
